It wasn't "near", but "ground zero" :-P Aoba Ward, Sendai, Intensity 6+.
We are having major power outrage again. My district just got back power an hour ago, but my building suffered some structural damage that shall be assessed today.

I can tell from my friends' Mixi tweets that people need info now.

So how is your place holding up?
You got to give the Japanese architects and construction workers some credit, even with so many earthquakes hitting 7.0 and above on the magnitude scale most of the buildings are still standing tall.

I've just dumped my "quake junks" (震災ゴミ) as the city's sanitary department comes back in service. This huge pile of junks are furnitures and appliances damaged by the quake, not tsunami.

My junks

Here's the sakura cherry blossoms in a concrete jungle littered with earthquake junks, but people still go out for ohanami picnic party and engage in daytime outdoor binge drinking. Screw "jishuku"

The whole city stunk of rotten sea and some households were sprinkling some soda lime (?) to prevent further bad smells

In some pictures it dosen't look that bad, but most of them show us that you town is still greatly afected by that earthquake. Is your house ok? Do you have water/electricity/gas/etc at home now?

Best wishes from Romania!
