As for the side of the old Kings Cinema, why don't, who ever owns it, sell it for Advertising space or have a massive piece of art work attached which can look good in the day & at night with the use of lighting.

I'm sure that was suggested at one point but was informally turned down as it would be deemed too much of a distration.

This was prior to the huge M6 hoardings though so might be different now if someone suggested it.

Maybe the suggestion should be accompanied with a suitably well stuffed large brown envelope/package

This road closed from the 4th, until the 8th of this month, so it looks like they will be putting the finishing details to this project.

Oh & by the way more rusty chess pieces have appeared & will be standing guard on the Metro boulevard

Its all going to look very nice when it done.

I don't why they have kept the set of wheels of the British railways Diesel class 08 shunter ? I trip to the Severn valley railway and they may of got some knackered old wheels off a steam kettle .

Thanks for the update Oldbury. One question I thought pedestrians had the right of way on the Metro Plaza, if so why have they put pedestrian traffic lights in the middle of it?

I think it was initially supposed to be a “shared space” area – where no-one has priority (which leads to a lot of confusion for everybody)

They have it in Coventry, but there were problems initially (including a fatality) and have since added more crossings adjacent to these areas.

(the locals hate them !)

Trust Sandwell MBC to introduce something that's not liked elsewhere. Another thing they are introducing 20MPH speed limits & now there's a report out that may make roads more dangerous.
