Workers on site yesterday and today, chipping away at blocks and two demo trucks getting stuck in. I deleted the wrong photo but here's two awful ones to compensate

This is all but gone now, drove past earlier.

Got to be a record breaking year for on site works across the city.

The speed that this, House of Sport and the Ice Rink have come down at is astonishing.

It also shows just how hard it was to bring down the ATV Studios which took months.

Or on the other hand quite understated and smart. It's just nice to see some student accommodation going up made with bricks.... and not cheap plastic cladding. Not quite as smart as the Vale. But should look ok.

That is because it is pretty difficult to get these types of developments to look good when they are purely made of brick. You end up with this type of thing https://www.padsforstudents.co.uk/pr...on-summer-let/

Thankfully the brick colour in the renders will be correct as they put in an app for amendments due to lack of supply and this is the only colour they can get in size in time

Pochin’s wins £24m Birmingham student halls
Aaron Morby | Tue 10th November | 7:19

http://www.constructionenquirer.com/...tudent-halls/?

North west contractor Pochin’s has picked up a £24.4m contract to deliver a student accommodation scheme in Birmingham for Threesixty Developments.

The 160,000 sq ft project on Legge Street will cater for over 534 students within a stone’s throw of Aston University’s central campus.

The project, which is expected to open to Birmingham’s student population for the start of the 2017/18 academic year, is Pochin’s second with Threesixty Developments -formerly known as Knightsbridge Student Housing.
