Or even gain entry in daytime by just wearing a hard hat a yellow jacket.

I saw a little alley-way that led to the site and I was very tempted to go down there.

The best-known render seems a little deceptive - it looks like the red bands project out like balconies, but this is evidently not the case. Alright at night, this could turn out to be a lemon in the daylight.

Fingers crossed gents...

I've already adopted the position that whatever they do to it then it will look a whole lot better than before... if it manages to be better looking than Orion then were are doing really well. On the positive side, there is not likely to be a backside like Orion has as this building is glazed on both sides equally and the ends are very narrow.

Edit.

Those ends would be perfect for some large vertical lettering saying "Brindley House" or something

Has anyone noticed Brindley House's new night lighting scheme? I can see it from the back of my garden and looks colourful and futuristic.

Going off topic but does anyone know why Quayside doesn't get lit up anymore at night, it could help boost the nighttime skyline with CCT/HCT/Orion/Sentinels/Rotunda/Metropolitan House (barely)/The renovated Hagley Tower (forgotten its name)/BT Tower/Hyatt.

NEW BUILD
The building would be constructed from red brick with a lightweight metal clad top most
storey. The fašade would be visually broken down with areas of glazing and render. The
new build element would be accessed via Water Street, where one historic pier remains.
The applicant proposes to provide a new pier to match, reinstating the traditional
symmetry.

There is a tiny bit about the new build in an article in the post about opportunities for construction for city.

Quote:
The ú5 million scheme involves the construction of 64 new apartments - part of a five-storey building to be known as Water Street Court.

The development forms a part of MCD's Brindley House regeneration scheme which incorporates the conversion of the former telephone exchange in Newhall Street to provide a further 182 up-market flats.

The scheme will provide a stunning new gateway into the Jewellery Quarter and help bring the adjacent Birmingham and Fazeley Canal back to life within the city centre

Looks hideous there, though it is early days. Doesn't look promising though.

Curse of the night renders.
