Oh i use the retro camera for the skyline pics etc, not for construction. Takes a while to take a trip to asda and process them. Otherwise i would post construction pics that are a week old.

Yeh the crane is for masshouse, nothing was happening on site today.

Yes, that crane is there for Masshouse, and it has been there at least since last week when I went picture hunting. I'm pretty sure it's on the pictures I took as well...

I wouldn't expect a big flurry of activity to begin with - they've already built the foundations after all and that's a big job in itself, it's just a continuation of the structure upwards now. That first section of steelwork might be a test to verify they can continue work on the whole site. I'm probably spouting bollocks, but that's my thinking on the matter.

With the exception of the scenario which mk61 is painting (which sounds realistic but nont necessarily probable) i would expect that now that the steel work has started that this would fly up. It is the same construction method as the first phase and that went up really quickly.

There was even more steel up by the time I came past last night, so that is obviously what the crane is doing.

Maybe they've decided to use a mobile crane rather than a tower for now....get the steel up quick before the prices go up again!

My guess is that they are just cracking on with the low-level steelwork whilst the tower crane is on order.

I can't seem them getting to the higher levels without a TC - keep your eyes peeled for a base
