The excellent XFWSPOTTER has spotted the second Aer Lingus A321LR, EI-LRB, looking reasonably close to delivery after a long delayed F1. This should have been in service months ago and Aer Lingus have missed their lucrative summer season now.

The only good news is that EI-LRC will be delivered not too far behind EI-LRB it has also been spotted recently in Hamburg by the XFWSpotter team. Some more LRs are expected next year.....that's before the Summer Airbus. At this moment in time AL are the only airline in the world who ordered the A321LR and the A321XLR without ever ordering an A320neo or an ordinary A321neo.

Their current A320 fleet is getting pretty ancient now and it spent a lot of the summer in tech ops at a selection of Club Med airports.

This 'pitch up' business is getting more complicated by the day

https://www.thehindu.com/business/In...le29452988.ece

Quote:

Days after leaving behind baggage, IndiGo assures passengers

Will do some course correction, the airline tells DGCA

Days after IndiGo left behind checked-in baggages of all its passengers booked on a flight to Istanbul as a safety precaution from strong headwinds en route, it has told the DGCA that it will do some course correction and give up some of its revenue seats instead.

Following a meeting on Tuesday with representatives from the airline,IndiGo said it would not fully book its flights to Istanbul and leave 15% (29 of the 186) seats on A320 Neo and 29% (49 of the 222) seats on A321 Neo unsold, according to a DGCA source.
It would fly with more weight eastbound. But it simply looks like Indigo have no idea what they are at and that in the end the regulator cracked the whip on Indigo to stop them doing something really stupid.

Westbound to Istanbul from Delhi is ONLY 300km SHORTER than transatlantic Dublin to Boston is, however nobody ever tried DUB-BOS with an A321neo into the teeth of the Jetstream because all the carriers on the Atlantic are acutely aware of the Jet Stream and its effects. Instead they cajoled Airbus, waited a while, and Airbus came up with the A321LR as the solution to get across the Atlantic for them. Nor did they think they could get 200+ passengers and their baggage into these A321LRs either. After they got them of course.

Indigo can convert maybe 8 of their A321neo order to A321LR and wait their turn for delivery in 2 years time.

Folks, does anyone maintain an excel sheet similar to the one which we have for dreamliners. With the intended deliveries of various aircrafts like 320neo 321neo 321 lr and 321 xlr.

Edit : my bad saw the post https://xfw-spotter.blogspot.com/sea...0&by-date=true
Does it contain all the lists like in a excel sheet?

XFW is really good on Hamburg and the Toulouse coverage is not as good. Another site may have extra info for you and airfleets also have MSNs .

https://aibfamily.flights
https://www.airfleets.net/listing/a320-1.htm
https://www.airfleets.net/listing/listing.htm

Airbus seemingly release new MSNs for planned aircraft at the beginning of the month.

A319neo: never gonna happen. Every airline that could have been a candidate for that model (Air France, recently Air Austral etc) has gone for A220, so I see Spirit eventually convert to A220 as well.

As for the purported Chinese orders for the A319neo still on the order book: well, those airlines may have to look to a C919 shrink instead COMAC will more than happy to oblige..

Lufthansa A320 D-AIPB (l/n MSN70)was delivered on the 20th of October 1989 and is in service with Lufthansa for 30 years this week while still flying daily from the Munich base. (She is currently overnighting in Dublin) .

The delivery date was 30 years ago but I am not sure when LH first flew her in service so I gave them an assumed 5 days grace.

https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/d-aipb

This is the first time in history that a major airline passed the 30 year mark with a passenger frame still in daily service and of course the fact that she did so is also a tribute to inhouse maintenance arm Lufthansa Technik and their skills at maintaining the LH fleet.

A good few, perhaps 10,of the LH A320ceo fleet are to pass the 30 year mark over the next year or so.

According to flightradar24, it is flying from MUC to OST today. Why is that? Ostend is only used for charters and freight as far as I know.

That flight was not loaded when I posted, sadly that was its very last flight.

30 years and 5 days in service.

IndiGo signs for 300 A320neo Family aircraft

Quote:
India’s IndiGo has placed a firm order for 300 A320neo Family aircraft. This marks one of Airbus’ largest aircraft orders ever with a single airline operator.

This latest IndiGo order comprises a mix of A320neo, A321neo and A321XLR aircraft. This will take IndiGo’s total number of A320neo Family aircraft orders to 730.

Nice performance for Lufthansa and A320; however, let's not forget Delta (there may be other examples, as well) with their MD-88s, the oldest still in operation being delivered in April 1987 (https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n905dl).

Airbus Poised to Sign Deal for Up to 20 Planes With VietJet

Quote:
Airbus SE is poised to sign a deal with VietJet Aviation JSC for an order of as many as 20 A321XLR long-range planes, according to people familiar with negotiations.

The order is expected to be signed Thursday afternoon in the French city of Toulouse, said the people, who asked not to be identified because they aren’t authorized to speak about the matter. It may include the conversion of five A321neo aircraft from the airline’s existing order to A321XLR planes, according to one of the people.

Edit: now confirmed, as reported by Airbus: https://www.airbus.com/newsroom/pres...agreement.html.

Orders are on fire the last few days. Any particular reason?
The Dubai Airshow is in a few days also. Likely more announcements.

I would guess partially they see that 737 max won’t be flying outside USA for some time. And passengers don’t want it.

Most orders are from existing A320neo users, no one is jumping ships yet. Or perhaps they are expecting a huge influx and want to ensure supplies for their own fleet. Time will tell....

Yes, but those were probably negotiating with Airbus and Boeing at the same time, if for nothing else, to get reduced price from Airbus.
