A bit from Hillerød:

A bit on the Campus Area at Hillerød Sation in a double review in Politiken which also covers the Glødelampe site in Herlev:

http://politiken.dk/kultur/arkitektu...mageproblemer/

A political majority now supports Goldschmidt's wish to include am indoor food market inspired by the one on Israels Plads in his shopping centre.

http://www.sn.dk/hilleroed/flertal-f...6#.Utb8cNqA3gg

Asgaard Group that has acquired extensive Building rights in the future Hillerød Syd area has launched a new strategy which Means that they will focus on Investments rather than Development Projects. I suppose that means that they are no longer interested in developing the area.

"Setting new standards" - catchy name, I suppose that must Refer to the lacking kitchen facilities

Really cool that private investors like Goldschmidt still is able to throw private money on the table in projects like this, though a shame that this country soon will end up as one big Mall meanwhile the city cores are being drained and is suffering a slowly but certain dead.

I completely agree of course. However, in this case, where they will only allow very large stores, I am not sure how much damage it will do. The first contract they have signed is for instance i 3,500 Square metre Elgiganten, which is not something I will miss in a local main street. And I would for instance love to see the Punkt 1-store on the corner of Istedgade and Enghave Plads in my local Hood relocate to some horrible shopping centre, somewhere, although I am aware that you ccannot compare Hillerød to a down town neighbourhood such as Vesterbro (even if I think that is where they should look for inspiration more often). When it comes to these very large, space-requiring stores, I will also rather see them concentrated in one big box rather than in a Whole district of boxes surrrounded by each their drab parking lot in the outskirts of Towns as is often seen. Especially if they try to open that big box towards the suroundings.

However, I don't understand the logics behind not wanting a supermarket in the shopping centre to keep business in the down town area and then permitting a Israels Plads-style market (not that I believe it will be anything like that in the end).

I completely agree with Hans Peter Hagens. I just don't understand the politicians in Hillerod. The existing town center is struggling with closed shops and now they give it the final death blow by allowing a huge "out of town" mall.

Agree. The politicians in Hillerød should have visited Rødovre to see how these kind of shoppingcenters effects the areas around.

"Torvehaller" in a shoppingcenter won't be torvehaller anyways.

Hillerød Syd is now called Favrholm after Novo Nordisk's resently expanded farmhouse-turned-educational centre. Adept's plan for the first phase of the district - the area located closest to the new S-train station - was presented yesterday:

Danica has plans to expand Slotsarkaderne with a new, two-storey Building located to the rear of the existing shopping centre. They may also buy an exisitng Building at Slotsgade 25. The plans have just been aproved by the City but Danica wants a tenant to be in place before they start Construction. The new Building is designed by Kullegaard Arkitekter:

...and this apparently is the price the citizens of Hillerød will pay for yet another indicriminately placed shopping center.

It seems that the Citizens of Hillerød won't have to pay that Price anyway:

Quote:

I'm born and raised in Hillerød and it is extremely good news. This #%+*^##% giant shopping mall at this location would have killed the last life in the city center for sure. What the heck was the politicians thinking in the first place??!! HURRAH

There is an election coming up so please note which parties plan to allow mega centers (Bilkas) all over the country in spite of the interests of many of their voters (shop owners in the town centers)

As a resident in Rødovre, I second that...
