Thanks for the invitation UrbanDev,and as Bikes I would gladly join too! But first of all I hope You'll enjoy living in our beautiful capital.

You asked me about the railroad tracks. Metro 5 is a pretty large scaled project, connecting the Northern and Southern HÉV (Paris type RER) lines. I made post about the planned project in the Metro 4 Budapest thread. Here is the link:

https://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...9&postcount=12

But You must understand that unfortunately won't happen tomorrow...

If I see already all the trouble the Hungarian government has to make the budget for M4 fit, it can take a while before M5 can start...

Do you know by any chance if the "Harmony Bridge" project makes any progress (the new pedestrian bridge between the Petőfi and Lágymányosi bridges)?

Do you still live in Szentendre? I've never been there, but if I see the pics in books, it must be like living in a vintage postcard book
I was born and grew up in Bruges, a medieval Flemish city and everytime I go back there I've the feeling of a huge "knight movie" decor.

Yes! But I'm moving into the capital in the summer. You should visit Szentendre at least once, if you'll be in Hungary. But perhaps I'll make some photos when I'll have time and make a thread about Szentendre in the "Your Cities" forum.

I always take my foreign friends to Szentendre, lovely tiny city. Budapest would urgently need a pedestrian bridge, it is such a shame we dont have one yet. Remember the day when we joined the EU and they made the Liberty Bridge swarty for the pedestrians. It was full-full with people, and the atmosphere was great. Sitting on the bridge and enjoying the view of BP.. Priceless!

Bruges is really beautiful, you are lucky to have born there!

This pdf is an overview of pictures and images of the Millennium City Center.

http://www.popandroll.com/MillenniumCityCenter.pdf

In this pdf you can see the construction history of Castrum Haz,
the new building between the Duna-Pest residences and the Vodafone headquarter.

http://www.popandroll.com/CastrumHaz.pdf

From the moment I'm back in Budapest, I will post more recent pictures.

Everything starts to look nice, the only thing missing are shops on the riverside
of the buildings - now they are all empty (I understand, nearly nobody goes there).

The problem with glass projects in the middle of a historical place is that they look so cheap in reality
(on the 3D renders, they still may have something interesting).

I'm not a big fan

The view is relax by day, and romantic at night

These renders of the new Haller building (next to the Vodaphone office) were already posted some months ago in the general BP P&D section.
The buidling will be a new home for the CEU (Central European University) and should be finished for the academic year 2008-2009.

I don't like the design. Just boxes all over again, only this one has holes in it.
Oh, well I can't expect anything better than that from Trigránit.

Would be a cool party to have a roof party, though

I'm also wondering what happened with the original round tower that was planned for this place.
