Yeah it is speculative. We don't know when the building to the right will be built though... they have already pushed it back for a pre-let on the HSBC building once.

Looks like a multi-storey car park in Sheffield.

I've just realised what they're trying to do. Creating echoes of the new library, that fail abysmally!!!

Just come on to catch up on the latest, saw this and you beat me to it, Sandblast (although I'd have stopped the sentence at "park" and added "from the 60s").

This is truly horrendous!!!! Who the hell came up with this???

A massive backward step.

Agree!!!

It looks .... (speechless) ....... my god, someone has been paid good money to produce this! What a pile of crap! Can't believe someone thought for one minute it would be a spiffing idea to publish it and let the whole World see it. Truly awful!!

Someone must let BCC know how people feel about this. Have people really seen this in Cannes?!?! How embarrassing!! It even looks pebble dashed close up!!!!!!!

If you look at the ground floor of the building, it is definitely trying to reflect Alfa tower somewhat, while the design isn't bad in itself, it definitely needs to be improved significantly.

I would like to see residential somewhere in this area and maybe dandara's site will be reworked now by them to accomodate even more flats as there is less competition now 400 have gone from the area. That could mean we might see a new proposal there and much much bigger. Just a thought
You are a tease

I reckon that if all the hight of Arena Cental was reduced, we will still get a really high quality scheme, not dissimilar to Brindleyplace....Just minus the bars and restaurants.

The car park at St Paul's Place Sheffield is pretty awesome. Looks smarter than this proposal.

Everyone's coming to a conclusion from a small part of a single artist impression of a masterplan? Maybe we should just wait and see?

Why does it remind me of the HSBC logo?

I quite like it and is it mimicking the bottom of Alpha Tower at it's base?

If Dandara do decide to build big again it had better not look anything like their last design.

Really we're not doing too badly on tall buildings, with Beorma and Colmore Row breaking the 100 metre mark and a few close behind all looking a reality. The city is just missing that one really tall building with a wow factor. 150m+

I really like it. It's a bit darker than the rest of the buildings proposed but it could look good. It is going to stand out anyway.
