CHINA l PORT OF NANSHA, GUANGZHOU

Nansha Port is located in Longxue Island on the west bank of the Nansha District of Guangzhou , south to the South China Sea, east to Shenzhen . It is located in the Geographic Geometry Center of the Pearl River Delta, The Pearl River Delta West Wing city to the sea the only way; a radius of 100 km covers the entire Pearl River Delta urban area.

Port of Nansha Phase I and II container terminals have 10 X 150,000-ton specialized container berths with a main shoreline of 3,500 meters and barge coastline of 1375 meters. The world-class super-Panama-type container loading and unloading bridge is 41 sets. After completion of the third phase of Nansha, Nansha Port will have 16 deep-water berths of 150,000 tons, the main shoreline is 5718 meters long and the barge shoreline is 2535 meters. The layout of 16 150,000-ton deep-water berths, the annual capacity of 7.5 million TEU; a total of two 100,000-ton specialized grain berths, with shoreline 2205 meters, the design capacity of 23.3 million tons; a total of three professional berths , Coastline 623 meters, the design capacity of over 1 million; petrochemical professional berths a total of 19, 2997 microphone length shoreline, designed to pass the capacity of 21.49 million tons.

Nansha Port Phase IV Project: The designed annual handling capacity is 4.8 million TEUs .
The project is located in the middle of Longxue Island digging into the port, Nansha Port a terminal on the northwest side, to be built two 100 000-ton and two 50,000-ton container berths (hydraulic structure by berthing 100,000 Tonnage container ship design) and supporting barge berths, large wharf shoreline total length of 1460 meters; supporting the construction of 12 2-ton barge berths, barge wharf shoreline length of 1184 meters (including 200 m working boat dock shoreline). Designed annual handling capacity of 4.8 million TEUs . Engineering land area of 1.228 million square meters of land, the total estimated investment of 4.943 billion yuan.

The Nansha International Cruise Project mainly builds two cruise berths with a total length of 770 meters, including a berth of 100,000-ton berth, a 325-meter long coastline, and a 225,000-ton berth with a 445-meter shoreline. Land area for the terminal 50 meters in front of the terminal platform and supporting the construction area of 35,000 square meters. Among them, 10 million-ton berths are near-term projects, 225,000-ton berths are long-term project.

The Nansha Port Phase IV Terminal is located in the digging-in port basin in the Nansha Operation Area of Nansha Port District. It is planned to construct two 100,000-ton and two-50,000-ton container berths (the dock structure is designed for berthing of 100,000-ton container ships). And supporting berths for container barges, engineering design annual throughput of 4.8 million TEUs, the planned construction period is 2018-2021, and the total investment is estimated to be 5.588 billion yuan.

The Nansha Port Railway passes through four cities of Jiangmen, Zhongshan, Foshan and Guangzhou. The total investment of the project is 11.563 billion yuan and the total construction period is 4 years. The route leads from the Heshan South New Station on the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway to the southeast direction via Heshan and Jiangmen junctions, Shunde Jun'an, Shanxiaolan, Dongfeng, Nantou, Huangpu, Guangzhou Wanqingsha to Nansha Port, and the new line length is 80.783 Km (5.05 km long from the Nansha Port Station to the south container operation site), 3.127 km long of Heshan South Upstream Treatment Line.

The railway is the first freight railway that enters the Nansha Free Trade Zone in Guangzhou. It is an important part of the cargo transportation corridor in the western part of the Pearl River Delta, and it is also an important channel for the construction of rail freight connections between the cities of the Pearl River Delta West Wing and the inland areas. Its completion will be conducive to extending the range of harbor hinterland, enhancing the competitiveness of ports, reducing the logistics costs of enterprises along the region, improving the competitiveness of enterprises and regional economic markets, promoting the adjustment of regional industrial structure, and promoting the sustainable economic development of the Pearl River Delta and Guangdong Province. In the road network, the railway is an important hot metal transport channel in South China and Southwest China. It is an important route for optimizing the layout of the Guangzhou hub freight and improving the regional road network structure. At the same time, Nansha Port Railway will also become an important part of China's “One Belt and One Road” project. After it is completed and open to traffic, the Nansha Port container train will reach Europe.

According to the person in charge of the China Railway 25th Bureau Project, they undertook the construction tasks for the second tender section of the Nansha Port Railway Station. The main project includes 12.962 kilometers of new railways, laying from the long line of 157.572 kilometers from Heshan to Guangzhou, and A total of 5,304 T-beam prefabrication and erection tasks were completed for 11 bridges.

At present, Nansha Port of Guangzhou Port has 16 berths of 100,000 to 150,000 tons, which can meet the berthing requirements of the world's largest container ship.

As of the end of October 2017, Guangzhou Port has established friendly port partnerships with 41 ports around the world. It has become a hub port for African routes in South China and has opened a sea-railway transport route to Europe. Maersk, CMA, Mediterranean and other global top 21 liner companies are all operating in Guangzhou.

From January to October this year, Guangzhou Port completed a cargo throughput of 486 million tons, an increase of 8.82% year-on-year; completed container throughput was 167.766 million TEUs, an increase of 10.17% year-on-year. Among them, the container throughput of Nansha Port was 11.519 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 13.43%. Since the beginning of this year, it has added 10 foreign trade container liner routes, and has 195 existing container liner routes, of which 89 are foreign trade.

The home port of cruise ship will bring cultural exchange and integration

At present, the cruise terminal project has been fully started. In September of this year, the test piles of steel pipe piles for the Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Terminal project were successfully completed, laying a good foundation for the subsequent construction of large-scale construction of steel pipe piles. In the first phase of Nansha International Cruise Port Homeport, a 225,000-ton gross tonnage, a 100,000-ton gross cruise ship berth, and a 35,000-square-meter terminal will be built. The annual capacity will reach 750,000-100,000 person-times. The plan is for 2018. Completed by the end of the year and put into operation in 2019.

A new and luxury ro-ro passenger vessel built by Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Ltd for Swedish company Rederi AB Gotland was named VISBORG in a naming ceremony in Guangdong provincial capital on Saturday.

"We Rederi AB Gotland are very proud of the 'VISBORG' which is among the most sophisticated RoPax with LNG ual-fuel propulsion in the world and which is a further confirmation of the high quality and innovation of Chinese shipbuilding," said Ann-Marie Ami Astrom, chairwoman of Gotland.

"We hope to be able to order many more ships at GSI and China State Shipbuilding Company," she said.

Chen Zhongqian, chairman of GSI, said the vessel is a landmark product for GSI's revitalization after the company moved to Longxue island, located at the mouth of the Pearl River, from the city's Liwan district in July last year.

Construction of the vessel has cost more than 1 billion yuan ($149 million), a record high in building a single ocean and engineering ship in GSI's history, Chen said.

"The successful construction of this vessel has laid a good foundation for GSI to proceed in the luxury Ropax market as our highly-quality development direction. And to date GSI has in hand the largest Ropax orders in China," Chen added.

The high standard and environment friendly Ropax vessel is driven by dual-fuel engines and its navigational speed can reach 28.5 knots to become one of the fastest ro-ro passenger vessels in the world.

At 200 meters long and 25.2 meters wide, the vessel is designed to have a capacity of 1,730 passengers.

The vessel will operate between Wisky island and Oskarshamn Port. It also comes with entertainment facilities.

In 2018, the cargo throughput of Guangzhou Port exceeded 600 million tons, reaching 613 million tons, ranking fifth in the world. The container throughput was 21.92 million TEUs, ranking fifth in the global port.

In 2018, Guangzhou Port added 12 international container liner routes (103 in total), and opened 209 container routes, including 103 foreign trade liners and 106 domestic trade routes.
