Good find Grapewine..May be in last 3 weeks they could have put one more structure..I hope Reliance and Rafale wins the new Navy (56) and/or Airforce contract (110) aircraft. That will just seal the deal for MIHAN...as a aerospace hub.

नागपुरात मिहानमध्ये फाल्कन विमानाच्या कॉकपिट जोडणीला प्रारंभ

नागपूर : उद्योजक अनिल अंबानी यांच्या मिहान-सेझमधील धीरूभाई अंबानी एअरोस्पेस पार्कमध्ये डसॉल्ट रिलायन्स एअरोस्पेस लिमिटेड (डीआरएएल) या कंपनीने फ्रान्समधील डसॉल्ट एव्हिएशनच्या ‘फाल्कन’ या फॅमिली बिझनेस जेट विमानाच्या कॉकपिटची जोडणी, लॅण्डिंग भागांसह सुटे भाग आणि गिअरची निर्मिती एका छोटेखानी समारंभानंतर १८ एप्रिलपासून सुरू केली आहे. कंपनीचा हा पहिला टप्पा आहे.

प्रारंभी २० हजार चौरस फूट जागेवर काम सुरू
या प्रकल्पात पाच अभियंत्यांसह स्थानिक ३० तंत्रज्ञांसह ५० जण कार्यरत आहेत. विस्तारीकरणात अनेक अभियंत्यांना रोजगाराची संधी आहे. धीरूभाई अंबानी एअरोस्पेस पार्क मिहान-सेझमधील १०६ एकर जागेवर उभा राहणार आहे. या पार्कमध्ये ५६ एकर जागेवर डसॉल्ट रिलायन्स एअरोस्पेस लिमिटेडचा प्रकल्प आहे. प्रारंभी २० हजार चौरस फूट जागेवर कॉकपिटची जोडणी आणि सुट्या भागांची निर्र्मिती सुरू केली आहे. या जागेवर मशीनरीची उभारणी आणि प्रत्यक्ष कामाला सुरुवात ‘डीआरएएल’चे मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी संपतकुमार आणि मुख्य कार्यान्वयन अधिकारी रॉबर्ट लूक यांच्या नेतृत्वात ६० दिवसांत झाली आहे. सप्टेंबर २०१७ पासून दोन्ही अधिकारी नागपुरात आहेत. या ठिकाणी नवीन लोकांना अद्ययावत प्रशिक्षण देण्यासाठी वर्कशॉप तयार केले आहे. प्रारंभी कंपनीने पाच अभियंत्यांना फ्रान्सच्या डसॉल्ट एव्हिएशन कंपनीत सहा महिन्याचे प्रशिक्षण दिले आहे. प्रशिक्षणानंतर त्यांनी प्रकल्पात काम सुरू केले आहे. तर ३० तंत्रज्ञांना कामठी येथील विशेष प्रशिक्षण केंद्रात प्रशिक्षण दिले आहे.

तीन वर्षांत प्रत्यक्ष विमानांची निर्मिती
पार्कमध्ये तीन वर्षांच्या कालावधीत प्रत्यक्ष फाल्कन विमानांची निर्मिती आणि पाच वर्षांत लढाऊ विमाने राफेलची निर्मिती होणार आहे. भारताने फ्रान्सकडून ६५ हजार कोटी रुपयांत ६५ विमाने खरेदी केली आहेत. एकूण गुंतवणुकीपैकी अर्धी गुंतवणूक डसॉल्ट एव्हिएशनला भारतात करणे बंधनकारक आहे. त्याअंतर्गत डसॉल्ट रिलायन्स एअरोस्पेस लिमिटेडने मिहान-सेझमध्ये कार्य सुरू केले आहे.

फ्रान्समधून मशीनरीची आयात
डसॉल्ट रिलायन्स एअरोस्पेस कंपनीने फ्रान्समधून सुट्याभागांच्या निर्मितीसाठी मशीनरीची आयात केली आहे. फ्रान्समधून कन्टेनरने मशीनरी चेन्नई येथे आणि तेथून नागपुरात आणण्यात आली. आवश्यकता आणि विस्तारीकरणांतर्गत आणखी मशीनरी आयात करण्यात येणार आहे.

नागपुरात एअरोस्पेस हब होण्याची क्षमता
विमानांच्या सुट्याभागांच्या निर्मितीसह नागपुरात एअरोस्पेस हब होण्याची क्षमता निर्माण झाली आहे. फ्रान्स येथील ‘टर्गीस अ*ॅण्ड गाया’ कंपनीने विमानांच्या सुट्याभागांच्या निर्मितीसाठी एअर इंडिया एमआरओ आणि टाल कंपन्यांच्या मध्ये एक एकर जागा खरेदी केली आहे. पावसाळ्यानंतर बांधकाम आणि प्रत्यक्ष निर्मिती फेब्रुवारी २०१९ पासून होणार आहे. ही कंपनी ‘डीआरएएल’ला सुटेभाग पुरविणार आहे. या कंपनीचे भूमिपूजन २० एप्रिलला झाले. चार दिवसांपूर्वी फ्रान्स आणि युरोपमधील विमान क्षेत्रात कार्यरत २६० कंपन्यांची संघटना फ्रान्स एअरोस्पेस इंडस्ट्रीज असोसिएशनच्या (गिफास) २० कंपन्यांच्या ३५ प्रतिनिधींनी मिहान-सेझला भेट दिली होती. त्यापैकी काही कंपन्यांनी या भागात प्रकल्प सुरू करण्यास रुची दाखविली आहे. या भागात एअर इंडियाचा एमआरओ कार्यरत आहे; शिवाय इंदामार एमआरओचे काम वेगात सुरू आहे. तसेच एअर इंडियाच्या एमआरओपासून पुढे १४०० मीटर टॅक्सी-वेचे बांधकाम सुरू झाले आहे. यामुळे अन्य कंपन्यानाही मिहान-सेझमध्ये उद्योग सुरू करण्यास उत्सुक असल्याची माहिती सूत्रांनी दिली.

Dassault Reliance Aerospace Ltd begins assembly of Falcon jet cockpit at MIHAN in Nagpur


Nagpur: The Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL) has started commercial production of Falcon – the business jet made by Dassault Aviation, France – at its unit in Dhirubhai Ambani Aerospace Park, MIHAN-SEZ, from April 18. In the first phase, the DRAL is assembling cockpit along with landing gear and other parts.

A team of 50 experts including five engineers and 30 local technicians are working in this project. Expansion of the project would provide jobs to many engineers. The unit set up at the MIHAN SEZ in Nagpur is part of Reliance Aerospace Park which is coming up on in an area of 106 acres. At this Park, the DRAL project is on 56 acre land. In the beginning, production of Falcon jet cockpit and spare parts has commenced. The set up of machinery and actual work was done under the leadership of DRAL’s Chief Executive Officer Sampatkumar and Chief Operating Officer Robert Loock within 60 days. Both these officers were camping in city since September 2107. A workshop for providing hi-tech training for new recruits has been set up. At the outset, five engineers were given six-month training in Dassault Aviation Company in France and the 30 local technicians were trained at a special training centre in Kamptee.


The production of entire Falcon business jet will be done in three years and that of Tafale fighter jet in five years at Dhirubhai Ambani Aerospace Park. India is purchasing 36 Rafale fighter jets worth Rs 60,000 crore. As the offset obligation connected to the purchase of 36 Rafale fighters from France, signed between the two Governments in September 2016, Dassault Aviation has to invest 50 percent of the cost in India. Under this obligation, the Dassault Reliance Aerospace Ltd has commenced the project at MIHAN SEZ.

The DRAL has imported machinery from France for manufacture of spare parts. The machinery reached Nagpur in containers from France via Chennai. DRAL will manufacture components for the Legacy Falcon 2000 Series of Civil Jets manufactured by Dassault Aviation and thus will become part of its Global Supply Chain. These first steps are expected to achieve in the coming years, the possible setting up of final assembly of Rafale and Falcon Aircraft.

The Joint Venture also represents a unequalled Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) by Dassault Aviation of over 100 Million Euros, the largest such Defence FDI in one location in India. The DRAL facility will train thousands of skilled workers in aviation assembly and integration, and lead to huge employment generation in Nagpur and its surrounding areas. It will also attract and house an organic ecosystem of over 200 MSMEs to secure the component and avionics manufacturing needs of Rafale and Falcon Jets.

The theme ‘Approach to Improve Productivity and Profitability’ and the sub themes of the conference were researched meticulously threadbare by NIPM team to understand the painful areas to improve productivity and profitability of the organisations in Central region of Maharashtra.


NIPM met around 100 senior professionals in the capacity of plant head, head operations, HR heads, CMDs to understand areas which hamper and jeopardize growth and development.
The expectations of these senior management personnel were very high and they wanted these challenges to be taken up by NIPM, Nagpur, said Pradip Raut, Chairman of NIPM, Nagpur Chapter while talking to The Hitavada at the sidelines of NIPM Nagpur Chapter-Central Regional Conference 2018 on Saturday.


Raut said, “To scientifically indicate our team went around SEZ, MIHAN, 5-star Industrial Estate like Butibori, Hingna MIDC, Kalmeshwar MIDC. We were disturbed to see the vacant industrial grassy plots with no one in sight; with grazing cows and buffaloes and frightening peace with no activities in sight. This kind of peace is disturbing and alarming. Entrepreneurs and industrialists want industrial growth with peace and prosperity in this region.”


Raut wondered why industries are getting sick, why large scale sectors are shying away from this Central region in spite of modern initiatives such as rail, road and air connectivity, strategic planning of Samrudhhi Marg between two capitals i.e., Mumbai and Nagpur there seems no tangible, concrete and sizeable industrial investments. “Industrial relations (IRs) are hurdle since long time. Relations was at its lowest ebb and industrial was a distant dream,” Raut pointed out. There are certain issues such as shortage of skilled manpower, stringent enforcement of local body act like Gram Panchayat Act, implementation of State Act such as Bombay Industrial Relations Act i.e. BIR Act, Mathadi Act, Maharashtra Recognition of Trade Union and Unfair Labour Practices Act, emerging issues of contract labour etc. “We decided to bring up the subject of industrial relations which has a direct impact on industrial productivity and profitability, especially in view of turbulent industrial climate hitting this region.

Reliance to make Radar components in Mihan

Reliance Group, which began commercial production of aircraft spares at its plant in Mihan-SEZ last month, plans to start work on another unit making radar components by October this year. The company is implementing the Rs30,000 crore offset arrangement, arising out the deal to buy 36 Raffale aircraft, from France’s Dassault for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

On April 18, Reliance started off with the production of nose-cones for Falcon, the business jet made by Dassault. Started on a small scale with over 40 workers, the first batch of nose-cones is expected to be dispatched by end of the year.

The same unit is planned to be expanded taking scale of employees to 600 eventually, said sources.

In the meantime plans are being worked out to set up a unit catering to Thales, also a French company and one of the key vendors of Dassault. The company makes radars and other electronic system. The radar unit will also be a part of the offset deal, said a source.

The radar unit will be registered as a separate entity for which the clearances are expected to be secured by July from the development commissioner for Mihan-SEZ. Work on the unit will start by October this year. It will have facilities to test radars and also make components. Initially, it may appoint 50 persons which may be scaled up in the future, the source said.

Last month a delegation of the French Aerospace Industries Association (GIFAS), also visited Mihan. Sources said Reliance is also planning to tie up with the GIFAS members which include small scale units too. The work advances services of various units under GIFAS which specialize in different areas of aircraft manufacturing may be needed.

If the deals work out their units will be set up in the Mihan-SEZ within the Dhirubhai Ambani Aerospace Park. If works out this may be the first ever venture of GIFAS members in India, the source said.

At Mihan, Reliance is coming up with an aviation manufacturing complex named after the company’s founder Dhirubhai Ambani. Starting from making aircraft spares there are plans to assemble unit at the Nagpur-SEZ. Almost entire works to be implemented under the offset deal will be undertaken here.

Furnace like conditions in Nagpur

Nagpur for the last few years becomes a literal furnace in the months of April-May. April is still bearable with temperatures of around 24-25 at night. The new phenomenon for those who have borne the Nagpur summer upto 90s, would still have relatively cooler evenings/nights. These days in May the evening tempreatures are still in late 30s and early 40s, with the lowest itself being around 29-30.

Unlike Mumbai where the sea breeze washes off heat and dust etc, Nagpur being land locked is stuck. The rampant concretization is going to sound Death Knell for the city. Forget outsiders, even we patriotic die hard Non-Resident Nagpurians now dread to visit the city in May.

The city needs massive afforestation, vegetation than anything else. Concrete roads everywhere with no trees in the median. The citizens have to wake up to this. Probably they get used to the extreme weather so systematically over the years that they do not realise what a Furnace Nagpur has become in May. For outsiders it will be a deciding factor whether to choose Nagpur to settle down for short term or good.

DRAL not even constructed the boundary wall there is nothing at there site except fr this shed.
About HCL they are going to start with the construction of 2nd tower as per there plan they will hav 5 towers in mihan with 12000 people employed in 3 years.

when reliance is involved, what you can expect. They will show that work started and get loan from banks approved showing them media reports.

Happened to go through updates in AURIC l Shendra - Bidkin Industrial Park, Aurangabad (DMIC)

Astonished! Such sense of entitlement!! How does a city 1/3rd size of Nagpur deserve more than Nagpur?
How does Aurangabad come 3rd in state after Mumbai and Pune in ANYTHING?
Heck, how does even Pune comes second for that matter! :P

Another point is how did Aurangabad come under DMIC exactly?
Good for them, but by no stretch of imagination it falls between Mumbai and Delhi

It is at the cost of Nagpur that Aurangabad got so many industries.
Nagpur deserves what's long due. Now it's time to payback :P
Hope Fadnavis gets another term!

Mihan employing over 10k, number to rise: Maharashtra Airport Development Company


Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was the biggest employer in Mihan with 3,500 jobs. Future Supply Chains, the distribution centre of Big Bazars all over India, comes second with 1,250 jobs. Hexaware Technologies, a software company, has 900 staffers on its roll in Mihan.

MADC has included the construction workers working in Mihan in the figure. The major underconstruction projects include Patanjali (250), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (100) and Mahindra Lifespace (200).
