Did a double take when looking at the UK forums index and saw "Middlesbrough" "3x 20fl".

I really hope these get out the ground. If someone hasn't already done so it's definitely worth sharing this proposal on the city threads.

Cheers.

Too late now, but strongly against. I'd rather a general Boho thread with all the developments lumped into one like with the Middlehaven thread, mainly because there'll be as many as 16 Bohos in a decade's time and we'll be drowning in Boho threads.

Never mind.

It's several months old, that video. I believe it was a teaser to show investors what it could be. Building designs, such as Boho 8, have changed considerably since, but their locations are broadly similar.

The latest plan at the start of this thread is the latest plan we have. Ignore that video.

The Evening Gazette are often a bit out of date...

That's an earlier video, produced way before the idea of 'skyscrapers' were announced. If you look far enough back in this thread you will see that when the digital city was announced it was basically a re-hash of existing proposals. BOHO 8 was already announced and BOHO zone north was also already announced.

The big 'digital city' presentation was in my opinion a self marketing exercise by the mayors of middlesbrough and the tees valley. In other words, jumping onto an already successful scheme and plastering their own names on it.

It's one of the reasons im slightly dubious on the towers ever being built. Work was announced to start when, early to mid next year,2020? But this will be the BOHO 8 start date, likely not BOHO 10. Also the 45 million budget announced, do we expect that to fund BOHO 8, BOHO 10 AND a 20 storey tower?

Edit: HC beat me to it.

Not at all. There are legitimate concerns about the viability of the scheme and we can't allow the councillors to flash fancy images at us and fall for them like a dog chasing a stick.

It's important to remain grounded and for now, we have Boho 8 to look forward to, which is, it seems, happening.
