Costs would be prohibitive. WAAPA needs larger spaces than conventional universities and those come at a premium in the city and in a high rise building.

Would love to see Waapa build a city campus on the CPP Concert Hall carpark.
Can include a walkway from the Concert Hall to a performance stage on the Swan River, would be epic.

I think the area next to the car park should eventually be developed. Langley Park is massive, and for the most part, widely unused.

The actual car park should be redeveloped to be a multi-storey

In no way, shape, or form should the Concert Hall car park be made multi-storey.

IMO the car park in front of the concert hall should be removed completly and replaced with something better. Its not like there is a shortage of parking in the CBD (including the car park underneath the concert hall itself)
Open air car parks in the heart of a major city have no place in 2019.

The only reason I suggested a multi-storey is because I figured they could halve the current space, with one half having the parking and on the second half, they could maybe develop it into something else?

That being said, the removal of the whole thing would be decent too - it’s just I know how well utilised it is when there are events

Possible; but also discussing giving WAAPA the PICA building in the Cultural Centre. Moving PICA to somewhere smaller.

What's smaller for PICA, perhaps an old shop in William Street like Paper Mountain? I don't understand why the latest contemporary art gets shoved into ancient buildings no one else wants, like schools, hospitals and asylums.

Hearing rumblings that the Carillon tender is out to market...hopefully promising signs for 2020.

This is an interesting one, some people think itll never happen...its hard enough getting tenants for the current facility.

I'm pretty sure that's because they aren't renewing leases, in anticipation for the new development.

I can't believe the Carillon Pancake place closed

I think you’re right, I know when reading the Carillion pancake parlour website, it said it was temporarily closed, or to look out for a new location (something along those lines)

So I think they are letting leases run out
