And not all construction within the 10 km radius either. It would be stupid to halt construction altogether within the 10 km radius.

I'm just quoting the article...The reason I'm apprehensive is because these new clearances involve MH SWB and the NWB, and the MTHL project needed these clearances earlier for crossing the Sewri mudflats area (inspite of that area not being notified as a national park/forest)!!!

And I understand that this is a problem only till the NP's boundaries are demarcated clearly...Once that's done, all construction (public/pvt, doesn't matter) will have to stop within the park proper and a buffer zone (usually upto 1 km) around the demarcation line...But I'm hyper-apprehensive of some NGOS getting an interim stay order on all construction till then (which could take years for final approvals)!!!

Private/ public matters.... After mangroves were declared protected forest only infrastructure projects are allowed with permission from HC...recent case being piers allowed to b constructed by clearing mangroves at Bandra for kalanagar flyover. Also it's Fadanvis, approvals comes in weeks

Either way, I hope they resolve the administrative issues quickly...From the map, it appears as if the entire city of Thane will be affected, as far as new buildings are concerned!!!
