Yes yes Adele, pity the poor hamlet currently thriving on that roundabout whose light will forever be taken from them.

This is a lovely development, looking forward to seeing it take shape.

I'm a big fan of Maccreanor Lavington.

Poor Adele she must miss, and prefer, the utter Sh*t that was previously there.

We have more than our fair share of outraged villagers in SE1.

Does Adele realise she lives in one of the two world Alpha cities - if she doesn't like these 'Alpha' cities growing and remaining 'Alpha' cities maybe she should move out into the countryside - That or she's happy to relegate London to a Beta city in time and then she won't be able to afford a hair cut every week when her wages drop dramatically (if she works at all)

She's a Lib Dem councillor who argued for more affordable housing in the development.

Cllr Morris was against this scheme due to its tower:

And this world Alpha city builds only a little bit more homes every year than Warsaw which is less than quarter the size of London.

Let me quote myself from other thread:
Quote:
London builds about 20.000 homes annually if I remember correctly. In the meantime, Warsaw (which has less than quarter of London population) built 15.000 homes in 2014.

These are statistics for the biggest cities from lower income country with falling population of 38 million but which builds more homes than the whole UK:
So I would say that in London "every little tower helps", despite some "village" councillors and pressure groups (read: NIMBYs) opposition

Our Victorian predecessors would be embarrassed if they could see our pathetic approach to building and ambition.

We need less councillors like Adele and some actually qualified and able to push the city forward with vision and ambition.

The Lib Dems played that same trick at the resi tower proposal at Old Street 'village' roundabout. In the end we got a stunted office block! Brilliant move, seemingly the "affordable housing" angle was not entirely sincere.

Why does Ms Morris feel that "There should not be a tower" on this site?

Next door to conservation area, too tall for the area, not in an area of tall buildings, loss of light... the usual.

That seems perfectly reasonable... wait, I mean, who does she think is?! How dare she register her disdain for this proposal?

Yep, the areas superior architecture will surely be cheapened by this scheme.

Can't wait to get onboard with the local councillors in getting those horrid trees chopped down, just look at those shadows and lack of light.
