Good amount of vocabulary in this song sung in colloquial Tamil.

Alunguren Kulunguren oru aasai nenjule
I am shaken and stirred. One desire in the heart.

Adungiren idhungiren onnum pesa thonala
I say this and that. Don't know what to say.

Nadaiyaa nadandhen kedeyaa kidendhen
I made desperate attempts. I waited patiently.

This sentence is often used in colloquial expressions to mean someone tried hard.

Minunguran sinunguran thalumboonu thalumburen
I glitter. I whine. I was perturbed a lot.

Alungure Kulungure oru aasai nenjule
Adungire idhungire onnum pesa thonala

Panju nee panjula padungi varum noolu naan
You are cotton. I am the thread hiding inside the cotton.

Anju nee anjula adangi varum naalu naan
You are five. I am four within that five.

Pandha nee pandhala thaangugira kaalu naan.
You are pandal. I am the pillar that supports the pandal.

Pandhu nee pandhula nerambi nikkum kaathu naan.
You are a ball. I am the air filling the ball.

Aathaadi enna aathunu aathine
Oh, Mother! (you) cooled me down.

Kaathaagi mella thoothune thoothune
(you) became wind and (you) winnowed me.

Kadhala meetune. kadavula kaatuna.

You struck the strings of love. (and) showed (me) god.

{Alungure Kulungure oru aasai nenjule
Adungire idhungire onnum pesa thonala
Nadaiyaa nadandhen kedeyaa kidendhen
Minunguran sinunguran thalumboonu thalumbure
Alunguraen Kulunguraen oru aasai nenjule
Adungire idhungire onnum pesa thonala}

Konalaa maanalaa irundha manam nerula
(Though With) mind that is topsy turvy.

Kaaluthan poguthe kadhalenum oorula
Legs walk straight in the land of love.

Naanalaa naanalaa asanja manam aadala
With the unmoved mind that used to sway like a reed

Tholanjadhu therinjum naan
Innum yen thedala

Even though lost, why didn't I search?

Kannellamo un katchi thaan katchi thaan
In my eyes, it is your image only.

Kaadhellamo un pechu thaan pechu thaan.
In my ears, it is your talk only.

{Kadhala meetuna kadavula kaatuna

Alunguren Kulunguren oru aasai nenjule
Adungire idhungire onnum pes thonala
Nadaiyaa nadandhen kedeyaa kidendhen
Minunguran sinunguran thalumboonu thalumbure}

Here is a song that used to bring smile to me for the excellent, typically rhyming lyrics of Tamil language and the not so subtle sexual innuendos of poet Vali. (It is not the complete lyrics, BTW).

Aani Pon Kattil Undu
There is a pure gold cot.

Kattil Mel Methai Undu
(And) there is a mattress on it.

Aani Pon Kattil Undu
Kattil Mel Methai Undu

Methai Mel Vithai Undu
There are stunts (to be performed) on the mattress.

Vithaikkoar Thathai Undu
For the stunts, there is a parrot. (This word is also used to refer to a girl/woman as in this case)

Thathaikkoar Mutham Undu
There is kiss for the parrot.

Muthangal Nitham Undu
Kisses are always there.

Kinnathil Then Vadithu
Having poured honey into a cup,

Kaigalil Yendhukiren
I am holding it in (my) hand.

[email protected]@~~ BG Music [email protected]@~~

Female : Aaaaah
Male : Aaaahhh

Female :
Yaazhisai Thannil Varum
That which hails from lute

Yezhisai Endhan Mozhi
those seven notes are my words.

Yaazhisai Thannil Varum
Yezhisai Endhan Mozhi

Another song I used to enjoy listening.
If Sridevi doesn't even take a step even once during the entire song, it was not without a reason. She had an injury and was temporarily disabled.

Prime ministers of countries (Britain & Canada) are appreciating the contributions of Tamil community on the occasion of Pongal.

Hope some day the country of origin of Tamils and the leaders of this country appreciate their contribution to some extent.

Listen to the song of moans of a woman forced into widowhood by the religious orthodoxy.

Azhagu Malar Aada Abhinayangal Kooda
When the beautiful flower dances with expressions to boot

Silamboliyum Pulambuvathai Kael
Listen to the sound of the anklets moaning in despair

Azhagu Malar Aada Abhinayangal Kooda
Silamboliyum Pulambuvathai Kael

Viral Kondu Meetaamal Vaazhgindra Veenai
(I am) the veena that has not been caressed by fingers.

Kulir Vaadai Konjaamal Kothikkindra Solai
(I am) the simmering garden not visited by a gentle breeze.

Pagaliravu Pala Kanavu Iru Vizhiyil Varumpozhuthu
When day and night many dreams visit the two eyes.

Azhagu Malar Aada Abhinayangal Kooda
Silamboliyum Pulambuvathai Kael..

Ahh.. Aagayam Illamalae Oru Nilavu Tharai Meethu Thaladuthu
Without the sky, a moon is staggering on the ground.

Aatharam Illamalae Oru Kodiyum Aadaamal Thalai Saayuthu
Without support, a creeper plant is falling down unable to sway.

Thaalathil Saeraatha Thani Paadal Ondru
A single song that is out of tune

Sangeetham Kaanaamal Thavikindrathu
is yearning for an accompaniment.

Vidiyatha Iravethum Kidayathu Endra
The saying that there is no night without a dawn

Oor Sonna Vaarthaigal Poyaanathu
turned false

Vasantham Ini Varumaa Vazhvu inimai Perumaa
Will there by a spring? Will life ever be happy?

Oru Pozhuthu Mayakkam Oru Pozhuthu Kalakkam
Sometimes confusion. Sometimes fear.

Bathilaethum Illatha Kaelvi..
A question with no answer.

Azhagu Malar Aada Abhinayangal Køøda
Šilambøliyum Pulambuvathai Kael..
Viral Køndu Meetaamal Vaazhgindra Veenai
Kulir Vaadai Kønjaamal Køthikkindra Šølai
Pagaliravu Pala Kanavu Iru Vizhiyil Varumpøzhuthu

Azhagu Malar Aada Abhinayangal Køøda
Šilambøliyum Pulambuvathai Kael..

Ahh..
Oøthaatha Pullanguzhal Ènathazhagu Šøødatha Pøøvin Madal
(I am) a flute that was never played. My beauty is the petals of an unworn flower.

Thaeiginra Manjal Nila Oru Thunaiyai Thaedaatha Vellai Puraa
I am the waning moon. I am the white dove that does not have a companion.

Pøøngaatru Methuvaaga Pattalum Pøthum
Even when a gentle breeze caresses me

Pøn Maeni Nerupaaga Køthikindrathu
My body boils like touched by fire.

Neer Oøtri Paayatha Nilam Pøla Naalum.
Èn Maeni Tharisaaga Irukkindrathey.

My body is like a dry land unwatered and unirrigated.

Thanimaiyilum Thanimai Kødumaiyilum Kødumai
Unbearable loneliness. Insufferable deed,

Inimai Illai Vaazhvil Ètharku Intha Ilamai.
There is no pleasure in life. Why this life then?

Thanimaiyilum Thanimai Kødumaiyilum Kødumai
Inimai Illai Vaazhvil Ètharku Intha Ilamai
Vaeru Ènna Naan Šeitha Paavam.
What is the sin I committed?

poojaikku vandha malare vaa
Welcome, oh flower to the pooja

Welcome, oh moon that decended to the earth.

ஓ ஓ ஓ ஓ ஓ ...
Welcome, oh golden hued statue
staying silent thinking it is a woman.

Welcome, oh chief who came to take hold of the flower.

Welcome, oh king who came to rule over the heart.

ஓ ஓ ஓ ஓ ஓ ...
kaiyodu kondu tholodu serthu
kan mooda vandha kalaiye vaa.

Welcome, oh art that leads to closing of eyes
with an embrace of hands and shoulder.

koadai kaalathin nizhale nizhale
Oh, the shade of summer!

konjam konjam arugil vaa.
Come closer a little.

ஓ ஓ ஓ ஓ ஓ ...

iravil vandhadhu vennilavu

the moon came during the night.
