52,510 for the regular season.

The full stadium (~72,000) was open 6 times in the regular season. That means 11 games with the upper level curtained off (~45,000).

They also drew 66k and 42k for the two playoff games, 36k for the US Open Cup final, 40k for CONCACAF Champions League Quartifinals, and 40k for the Campeones Cup. Those were all the games at MBS.
Good information.

Falcons raising ticket prices for first time in new stadium

It’s going to be more expensive to by cheap food and drink.

The Falcons are increasing season ticket prices for the first time since moving into their new stadium in 2017, via Sports Business Daily.

The average price will increase by an average of 1.2 percent per seat, but two thirds of the tickets will cost the same or less. This means, obviously, that one third of the seats will be increasing by more than 1.2 percent.

Most of the increased ticket prices apply in the 100 level, where the face value will jump by as much as four percent. The 200 level of the venue will have some seats increase in price by up to four percent, but some will drop by as much as four percent.

The 300 level has some seats dropping by as much as a whopping 15 percent.

Images from Falcons home games have created a clear impression that the Falcons are struggling to fill the venue. The fact that the team hasn’t done well doesn’t help.

Unlike most teams, the Falcons keep prices for items at the concession stand incredibly low. But that won’t matter, of course, if enough people aren’t there to buy them.

Real shame that one of the negatives of PSL ownership is that the owners must buy season tickets (so the games are officially sold out). Otherwise before the age of PSL's many of these games would suffer a 'blackout' in the local market with all the empty seats. Winning makes ALL the difference - Just ask 49'er fans this year!

This is becoming a big thing for the NFL and barring a sudden change of heart on how they handle tickets I'm not sure of any viable solutions. Until the lack of fans begins to impact viewership appeal, and the TV contracts they can bring in, I guess there's no incentive for a team to go above and beyond in luring bodies.

You would think Blank and Co. would turn to AUFC's supporter's groups and ask for some ideas!

Oh yeah, they'll tell Uncle Arthur no PSL's please. In fact many (if most) Falcons PSL owners actually believe that they should have the rights to buy & sell those AUFC tickets being they own those seats!

On another note, many are still surprised to find that only the owners of 'club seats' are able to have first dibs on major college football games played @MBS

Not bad considering the game was hardly a contest. Thought the refs were gonna make LSU play in flippers just to keep it honest!

Counting down the days.

My seatmate and I are planning to attend the season opener in Nashville. Awaiting our seat allocation for that but should be a fun way to start the year. Now just need to get the team's roster finalized!

Here’s how Mercedes-Benz Stadium will look as Final Four venue

By The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Quote:
As NCAA officials continue to prepare for the Final Four in Atlanta, they are eager to see the transformation of Mercedes-Benz Stadium into a basketball venue.

The Final Four – the semifinals are April 4, followed by the championship game two nights later -- will mark the first basketball games played in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The NCAA and the Atlanta Basketball Host Committee, at a Wednesday news conference detailing plans for Final Four fan events, showed a new architectural rendering of The Benz in basketball mode.

An elevated basketball court will be placed in the center of what is normally the stadium’s football or soccer field. A center-hung scoreboard, weighing 140,000 pounds, will be installed 100 feet above the court and 100 feet below the stadium’s famous halo-shaped video board. An elaborate temporary seating system, containing about 25,000 seats, will be installed over much of the existing lower bowl to improve basketball sight-lines and extend seats to the court.

Mod Note: Please don't post entire articles as that gets the website into trouble with copyright lawyers. Just share a snippet and then post the link. Thanks.
