some of the front entrence way pics make the stadium fairly cold looking...and it jus seems like the old stadium with some new skin.

I would have thought they would want to go for a completely new idea for Yankee Stadium. Instead they pretty much have a carbon copy of the current one, except it has modern amenities of course. This stadium is not innovative or unique for the fact that it pretty much is the same thing they play in now, just updated which I think is sad.

You would think they would have wanted to re invent Yankee Stadium into something new and unique, not a rehash.

I realize the significance of the fence around the top of the stadium, but I find it to look kind of foolish.

I remember going to games at U.S. Cellular before they had kind of roof and it was often brutality hot and uncomfortable during day games and you would get glare in your eyes during night games if you sat in the upper deck.
The upper decks of Wrigley are very comfortable in hot or rainy weather. Sat up there on a cold, rainy day and had a good time.

Simple rennovation could have done that. The Yankees wanted everything else, which sucks.....

i think that just a more innovative and new and more futuristic design of yankee stadium would have worked better.

Well you know how it is with nearly all new stadiums. Retro is in. Petco Park, Nationals Park, the Twins new ballpark, the early proposal for the Marlins new stadium, and the Rays proposed park are really the only ball parks that go in a different direction.

It really isnt a replica of what they have. For one this one has a different facade from the current one which is pretty gloomy. This version also has the ornamentation on the roof which the current version does not have. In fact this is more an attempt to replicate the original stadium than the one that is currently standing.

It is a traditional-looking stadium because the Yankees happen to be a traditional team. This ain't no latter-day franchise like Arizona or Tampa who play in those futuristic-looking warehouses named after banks or fruit juices...

While it may look similar to the outside observer, similar facade and outfield dimensions, its below the stands where the concessions, rest rooms, along with the suites, which will be different. The new stadium will earn almost twice as much for the baseball team in revenues per game as the old one. Expensive replica maybe, bettter revenue generator, for sure!.

We'll hear the cries the old one is no longer here, we'll miss the history. But the new one appears as the old one, and its a much better stadium for the fans and the team. Wider concourses, wider ailses, wider seats, more rest rooms, and more concession stands to choose. Which in turn means quicker egress, quicker concessions, and quicker trips to the rest rooms. Instead of losing a half inning or more, you might miss only one out.

Seriously, Big Texan. Get a life and find a thread you're enthusiastic about. Not one in which you seek to empower yourself by tearing apart a project which obviously is rubbing you the wrong way. You're a sad little troll.

This small, split upperdeck just doesn't work. The current Yankee Stadium upperdeck is one of the most special places I've ever been. It's this mix of all walks of life and has the indescribable pulse as they all come together and vocally support the team. This atmosphere translating concerns me. Oh well.

I like it/Hate it.
I like the new design/hate the lack of creativeness in the design.
