LP and Gillette are identical at first glance. 2nd glance, you notice gaps in Gillette's 2nd level.

LP Field reminds me of FedEx Field without the second and third deck endzones. It doesn't really remind me of Gillette.

While Gillette was built too small, I think it should have seated at least 74,000, the openness of the concourses is great and more NFL stadiums should do it.

I'm guessing it wouldn't be very hard for them to expand the stadium beyond its current capacity, especially with the numerous areas which could have extra seats added.

This stage is very large and can have your story and bring many good profits .. but architecturally it's not pretty

there's no architectural mandate that everything look pretty.

I would guess to have solid separation between club seats and regular seats. Some stadiums have an awkward situation.

Has there ever been any talk about increasing the capacity?

No, but the Patriots would have zero issues selling out all their home games if another 10-15,000 seats were added.

They just removed the lines and painted new ones.

What eMKay said.

Besides, this stadium also holds the New England Revolution MLS club.

Right, it's a dance the grounds crew performs pretty often this time a year.

A soccer club already plays at this stadium. Not a difficult procedure anyway.

Not always There was a Revs game a week or two ago with all the hallmarks of 90s MLS match, replete with football markings.

Problem with this theory is that the Pats and Revs both play on FieldTurf. The Brazil game looks like it was on real grass. They prob did what they do with the Georgia Dome and just put a giant tarp on top of the turf and then lay the grass on top of that.

Right, looks like that's the case and we are wrong. I completely missed that.
