this was located on the land where SARABHAI CHEMICALS located once ..then few years ago company shut down its operation n sold its land to two firms..front side land which touches Ring road were sold to Neptune realitygroup while other half n rest of the land was taken by DLF building india....

Savli biotech park & town center , Vadodara(VUDA)






Savli Biotech Park & Town Centre, India

HBO+EMTB completed the master planning, urban and landscape design and architectural design of key facilities for India’s largest Biotech Park and Town Centre project located on the outskirts of Vadodara.

The Biotech Park has been planned in three phases spread over more than 280 hectares of industrial land near the township of Savli. The masterplan includes the design and built form controls for a large town centre for 10,000 people as part of Phase III, including commercial, residential and educational support facilities.

The design encompasses ecologically sustainable development principles such as walkable neighbourhoods/ public domain, best practice water and waste management as well as design for climate. A feature of the masterplan is the use of landscape as a high quality ‘place making’ element for the Park.

The Athletes' Village for the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi has been officially opened and described as "better than the Beijing Olympics" by Craig Hunter, the Chef de Mission for England's team.
The dates for the Games are 3 - 14 October 2010, inclusive of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Weather wise the city experiences an October mean temperature of a minimum 17.2 degrees centigrade and maximum 31.3 degrees centigrade with humidity ranging from 31 to 78% for the October and November months.

Proposed BRTS project for Vadodara

Vadodara, May 15 With the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) taking up in a big way across the country, Vadodara doesn't want to lag behind its neighbours Surat and Ahmedabad. The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is contemplating submitting a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for introducing the system in the city.

The civic body wants to join the elite league of the cities like Delhi, Surat, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore among others, which have already initiated work on the BRTS corridor. VMC Commissioner M K Das said: "We are preparing a proposal to start BRTS in the city after the Government of India recommended its comprehensive mobility plan. To start with, we can have North-South and East-West dedicated corridors for the BRTS."

He added, "As per RITES Ltd, roads with over 30 metre width can be used for BRTS and we are not going to touch any road which is less than 30 metre in width. We have got enough road space and will try this option."

The concerned officials are working on this proposal and are likely to send it for approval from the Center after finalizing it at the local level, said Das. He added: "Even if approved now, we will take up this work from the next financial year."

Ironically, the proposal comes even as the city bus services are to be re-launched shortly after facing a down slide in recent years.

The coastal areas in Gujarat began receiving huge investments post economic liberalization reforms. Anticipating the need for infrastructure and spatial planning, in 1999 the Town Planning and Valuation Department (TPVD) initiated the task of preparing regional plans for coastal areas. EPC was commissioned to prepare a regional plan for an intensively industrializing area of Padra and Jambusar along the ‘Golden Corridor'. A huge industrial estate of about 500 ha was under consideration. Lack of waste management systems were polluting land, air and water in the area. Impacts were visible in the food cycle and the physical environment.

In the absence of a legislative & institutional framework for regional planning, the objectives, scope & contents of a regional plan were defined and a methodology was developed. Padra Jambusar Sub Region includes 5 talukas of Bharuch and Vadodara, is 3396 sq km in area and has a population of about 19 lakhs. The planning process included comprehensive studies of the region accompanied by consultations with the stakeholders. Maps were generated to represent data & analysis which greatly facilitated the planning process. The proposed development strategies included mitigating pollution impacts of chemical industries, promoting environmentally sustainable industrial development and agro based industry
