Those homes will still be built without Crossrail 2.

Time for some radical independent London investment streams! No point sitting on our arses for the next 2 decades waiting for central Government! The Mayor should take the Government to court if they get in the way, demand ability to raise Bonds, slap on a tourist tax, put an infrastructure surcharge on London councils with unsustainably low Council Tax rates like Westminster, tax airbnb and uber and all those zombie-economy business-rate-circumventing apps. Have multiple road charging zones up to the M25....

Sounds like devolution with local powers to raise local money.

The entire country would love some of that devolution please.

Honestly (and this isn't a dig at Potto) - we need to become more like a federalised Kingdom (or republic if her Maj decides to call it quits). Only through federalisation can stuff like CR2, Northern Powerhouse Rail, local electrification schemes etc go ahead.

They should hire out the finished ones as venue spaces and food markets, let us experience them today and help save up for Crossrail II!

Labour leadership front-runner Kier Starmer has argued for greater devolution.

Tourists Tax should be an absolute must for all UK destinations. Places outside of the UK could desperately use the money. Bath has been trying to introduce one for years now, and it's already the norm across Europe.
