Plus Properties celebrate successful Cityscape

Plus Properties, the new and highly publicized waterfront specialists, officially launched their luxury developments at Cityscape Dubai garnering attention from both local and international investors who were eager to book apartments in all three towers.

The portfolio, which includes two towers on Dubai Waterfront and one on Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi, all designed by James Law, Chief Cybertect, of Hong Kong based James Law Cybertecture International Ltd., was extremely well received. The towers themselves were presented via three dramatic and technically accurate models which proved a highlight on the eyecatching stand attracting a constant flow of visitors eager to discover more about the individual projects. The busy ambience kept the whole team on their toes and in addition, Plus Properties were delighted to have the support of special guest Razan Moughrabi, the popular MBC TV presenter, who helped entertain visitors for the entire three days, along with a number of other celebrities who made guest appearances during the show.

Commenting after the Cityscape Exhibition, Sami Maroun, Director of Plus Properties said:

"Cityscape was a huge success for us both in terms of the networking opportunities but also the conversion into solid bookings which clearly demonstrated the demand in the market. Our plans for the coming months include marketing activities in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi malls, a roadshow to take Plus Properties to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, as well as participation in additional high profile international property shows. All these will be supported by a continuing intensive media campaign throughout the region"

Plus Properties will be among the first developers to start construction on the world-class Dubai Waterfront which is the largest waterfront development in the world today.

Plus Properties, a leading property developer in the Middle East, has signed an AED 400 million contract with Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) for the construction of two prestigious waterfront projects at Madinat Al Arab - WATERFRONT, Dubai.

The agreement was signed recently by Georges Chehwane, CEO of Plus Properties, and Leon Der-Ohannesian, Area General Manager- UAE, Consolidated Contractors Company. This agreement with CCC paves the way for commencement of construction of Wave Residence 1 and Pixel Tower in Madinat Al Arab - WATERFRONT, Dubai, which is set to become the world’s largest and most luxurious waterfront development.

Commenting on the agreement, Georges Chehwane said, “We are very proud to have entered into a strategic alliance with a globally reputed firm such as CCC, who have long pioneered construction activities in the Middle East region. Entrusting the construction of Wave Residence-1 and Pixel Tower to CCC would not only raise the credibility of these projects and build greater trust with investors, but would also ensure that the projects are completed on time and to the highest construction standards.”

Leon Der-Ohannesian said, “We are pleased to add Plus Properties to our client portfolio. Plus Properties is one of the fastest growing real estate developers in the region with a variety of high-end projects to their credit, and we are delighted to have joined hands with such a prominent industry player.”

CCC is the largest engineering and construction company in the Middle East region employing 180,000 people in 40 countries. CCC provides highly-skilled project management, engineering, procurement & construction services to clients across diverse sectors.

It is committed to providing a reliable and professional service to its valuable clients, to being supportive to local businesses and communities, while ensuring that all activities undertaken are executed in an environmentally-friendly manner.

Key attributes that have contributed to the success of the company are its use of cutting-edge technology, the technical expertise of its employee-base, adaptability to local markets and its focus on quality and safety.

“Cityscape Dubai has established its place as one of the leading B2B real estate investment and development exhibitions in the world and we are delighted to announce our partnership with CCC at this premier event,” added Chehwane.

Taking its name from its unique shape, Wave Residence 1 is located on the first row directly on the beach at the Madinat AL Arab Waterfront, the largest water front in the world. The project will have exclusive garden apartments with private pools or outdoor jacuzzis. Wave Residence 1 will enjoy breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea.

Pixel Tower is conceived as a high-tech, Generation X tower for the young and trendy of Dubai, and comprises 18 floors with a variety of spacious and luxurious apartments, private villas and duplex penthouses.

Both the Pixel Tower and Wave Residence 1 are designed by world-renowned architect James Law.

Work underway at Dubai's Waterfront

by Elsa Baxter May 25, 2009

Construction work is underway on one of the first projects at the Madinat Al Arab district at Nakheel’s Waterfront development.

Plus Properties, the Dubai-based real estate company, has begun work on two of its residential beachfront developments, Pixel Tower and Wave Residence.

“Across the heart of Waterfront, including Madinat Al Arab, Badrah and Veneto, construction and infrastructure development is progressing well, with the first residents at Waterfront set to take occupancy within the next year,” said Marwan Al Qamzi, executive managing director, Nakheel Southern Projects.

Construction at Madinat Al Arab marks the latest progression at Waterfront, with villas at Veneto and the neighboring Badrah district set to be handed over in 2010, Nakheel said in a statement.

“The fact that our projects continue unhindered despite testing economic times is both a reflection of Plus Properties’ strong fundamentals and a reiteration of our faith in the future of the UAE property market,” said Georges Chehwane, CEO, Plus Properties.

Pixel Tower is 18 floors high and has a variety of apartments, private villas and duplex penthouses. Wave Residence-1, located on the beach, takes its name from its shape and has nine floors with studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments as well as garden apartments with private pools or outdoor Jacuzzis. Both developments embrace sustainable design guidelines, are energy-efficient and aiming for LEED Gold Certification.

Waterfront is being designed as a sustainable city. Energy and water conservation are achieved through the integration of utilities in dedicated utility centres, where waste is transformed into energy to power the city.
Madinat Al Arab, once complete, will comprise of canals and artificial islands, and a series of districts with mixed-use including commercial, residential, resort, and amenity areas.
