Just a few minutes ago the works to lay Libeskind Tower's concrete foundation slab began!

Something you should know: the foundation casting of the tower will be carried out continuously for 34 consecutive hours, with deadline on Sunday morning at 3am. 650 concrete trucks will arrive on site and will transfer about 6,000 cubic meters of concrete.

"Curvo" and "Storto" are the best looking highrises currently u/c in europe.

Does the Curvo still have the massive core of concrete on the outside curve?

No, it was the previous design.

This render shows how it will be.

Thanks. It's an improvement, but I thought with the concrete core it was able to bend more dramatically.

Is the convex facade still supported with diagonal bracing? It looked great in some earlier renders where the diamonds created an excellent representations of the forces in those members.

Also, regarding the concave facade - have they designed out the heat generation from the surface? It looks like it is pointing directly to the Tre Torri Piazza!

The facade pointing directly to the Piazza Tre Torri will have a "ziggurat" shape.

This system has been adopted to prevent that sun's rays don't create too much overheating in the square below. Local engineers won't repeat same mistakes that were made designing 20 Fenchurch Street (London).

More info:

1) The "blades" on the roof have been designed to host last-generation photovoltaic panels.
2) The gondolas for the maintenance of the facades will be hidden inside the crown.
3) The ultimate design provides for a scenic lighting on the crown.
4) The entrance hall will be carachterized with geometric shapes (like the balconies of the Libeskind luxury residences near Lo Storto / Generali Tower). Italian white marble and wood will dominate the scene.

It was canceled some years ago. The developer has decided to invest in the sculptures park.

Too bad!

Anyway Milano have a lot of museus, perhaps more towers or residentials be better, atracting more people to living or work in this area.
