Train Stations | Two reopening & one new | Prop.

Quote:
Plans to re-open two former train stations in Coventry and create a third brand new one have been put forward by city councillors.

The plans could see stations at Coundon and Foleshill re-open to the public and a new station built at Binley and Willenhall in the east of the city.

(Uggh - is there a worse website than the Coventry Telegraph ? It hurts my eyes to look at it !)
The idea of new local stations is a good one - I just hope they are more usable than the one at The Ricoh!

I think some of Foleshill Station's platforms are still present.

There used to be a station at Longford, as well, plus a 'Daimler Halt' for the Daimler works in Radford. (This had no buildings, and was just a platform). There was also a station at Hawkesbury (Between Coventry and Bedworth), which is apparently also being considered for re-opening.

There were also plans mooted some time ago for a station near Warwick Uni, although I think a tram route (Very Light Railway?) or better bus routes would be more use.
