Coventry Skyline Picture Thread

Surprised there isn't one already... There must be quite a few good photos about too. Here's a somewhat tame one to kick off.

From the top floor of the old 'Five Story Science Block' at Marconi, you used to get fantastic views of the whole skyline. Do you find that everything is separated out that it's quite difficult to get the whole lot in one go? The views from Spencer Park are probably about the best - and also if you go up to Allesley and Coundon you get some good views.

Yes, about floor four and not the top though.

It's nigh on impossible to get a good view of the whole skyline, if I find somewhere on my travels I'll snap it up though.

I think the problem is that Coventry's skyline is actually not that dense. The taller buildings are very spread out, and the city centre is a series of hills and valleys. This one isn't very good. I only had a compact camera on me. I don't go out laden with my DSLR and lenses!

I can't believe Machine Mart are still there. It's a blot on the landscape and surely a retail park setting with dedicated parking (Gallagher for e.g.) would be more beneficial to them.

The skyline looks a lot different already and it will be interesting to see an update in the next few months. People can be quick to point out Coventry’s negative aspects but I doubt many cities have changed as remarkably as Cov has in the past 3-4 years.
