My first time in Japan!

About the weather, winter is great especially in kanto because it has the most sunny days and you can see Mount Fuji easily. However Tokyo has transformed into a street tree city so I prefer when everything is green personally. It looks nicer IMO. The winter can be a bit barren.

Yes! I went to Osaka a couple of nights and it was so much fun, for my next trip I'll definitely spend more time there.

Day two: Meiji Shrine

I fell asleep quite early since I was really tired, but I somehow managed to woke up in the middle of the night. I guess it was the jet lag, and the same happened every single night, it stopped a couple of days before I came home .

Anyway, next day my first stop was the Meiji Shrine.

That isn't buying ice - it is to make iced coffee or another type of drink. See the picture in front of the ice? That's the drink it'll make. Fantastic in summer I can tell you! Australia has also started to do the exact same thing (as it gets very hot there in summer too). An excellent idea.

Wow! I did think it was for something like that but didn't confirm. In my city they only sell iced beverages in the machines where you just pour the coffee in a glass and pay according to its size. In some larger convenience stores or in "fancy" locations they even add a small coffee bar. It's sad that the 7 Eleven in Mexico aren't as convenient as the ones in Japan.

I like the green too, a lot. But I'm afraid of the heat and the humidity For my next trip I hope I can go during fall/autumn.

Omotesando was one of my favorite neighborhoods in Tokyo. The contrast between the straight and perfectly neat main avenue with the more chaotic and authentic back streets and alleys is really interesting. Unlike the boxy Ginza, here, every building and every corner seemed to have its own story, its own purpose, a unique personality. The way these different layers coexist at the same time and in the same place is one of the things I love most about Tokyo. I wandered in the stores for quite a while and didn't take as many pictures as I would like to, but it was good because since I was saving the camera's battery for later. Finally I grabbed a quick lunch at KFC and took the subway to one of the best spots to watch the sunset in the city.
