How to credit Flickr photos!

New Updated Posting Photo Rules in 2011

This illustrates the proper way to copy, post, and credit photographer on Flickr, which the moderating staff would now like for all of us to follow, in order for us to stay on good terms with Flickr and keep using them.

Also, on a related note, if you want to cite a picture from flickr and you don't know the user's name check out this nifty stalker trick:

Here's one of my photos for instance.

image hosted on flickr

Now if you wanted my user account info you could just right click on the photo and select the view image option.

And you would get a URL that looks like this:


From that URL you have the photo id. I will bold the id segment.


Now cut the bold segment (the id) and slap it on the end of this:

Like so:

And now you have access to the person's account.

Good tips! It's important to give credit where credit is due. I didn't know about that user's profile info trick. That's good.
