In terms of restaurants, Atul Kochhar ditched the Mailbox for his not really indian concept and said he was looking at other locations in the city. This would be the perfect location for him - right in the middle of the up-coming business district with one and 2 chamberlain square, HSBC & Arena Central, 103 Colmore row...and the list goes on and on. Adams and Purnells around the corner. The location is right for some high quality nosh. Not Hard Rock Café!

I’ve been to a few Hard Rock Cafes and they always seem to be a bit out of the way. They’re in the city/town centres but not right in the main bit. I think they assume people will go a bit out of their way to visit them.

If this is the case, we need one in the Gun Quarter.

Thanks again for the amazing photos Metrogogo

That reflection

And to think we had an ugly concrete block of a building there before sucking up all the light and making the whole square drab, albeit an ugly building of some architectural merit, granted (the old library tended to split opinions).

The square is going to be fantastic when finished.

Wow the reflection of Big Brum is an unexpected surprise. Fab! In the 2.5 years I’ve lived here not once have I been able to access the square! Going to be brilliant to have access again

Have you put this together jambreo? I like the way the first webcam picture of the old library has grey dull skies whereas all the other pictures have bright blue sunny skies.

yes, the first image is from the first day the webcam was live on 30-10-15.
Then the images are every year - 07-03-16, 07-03-17, 07-03-18 and 07-03-19 (today).
It seems like 7th March is a blue sky day every year!

I didn't deliberately choose a grey sky for the first image and blue skies for the rest.

I would have liked to add more images but work happened!

Another look at Two Chamberlain Square now that more glass panels have been added.

Does anyone know for certain if the statues of James Watt, Joseph Priestley and Thomas Attwood will return to Chamberlain Square?

A couple of photos showing the statues in position before being removed.

This building isn't even complete yet and I already love it!
