A-32 Úbeda - Torreperogil

It sounds like the rest of A-32 near Úbeda / Torreperogil will open 'in a few weeks'.

Why would a Minister make an effort and go to Torreperogil to hold an official opening ceremony (forbidden by law 90 days before the elections) when a local politician from the same political party can go there and tell everyone how good the new motorway is?

A crash caused a sign to collapse on A-2 near Guadalajara.

The works on the "new" bypass of Logroño have started today. Details: https://ibb.co/album/csopva

I visited the area this afternoon and could only see this excavator machine. I think it's the same as the picture above.

I think this building is going to be demolished

Some other pictures of the area (click to enlarge).

I filmed a short video too, from the bridge on which the Way of St. James crosses the AP-68:

By the way, looking at Google Earth most updated images I realize now that the first and the third picture were taken in the unopened section.

The press release also references the entire project, which apparently is completed and awaiting the opening of the Portuguese section.

A-33

Construction has officially begun on a 16 kilometer segment of A-33 between Yecla and Caudete.

Fomento: Fomento inicia las obras del último tramo de la Autovía A-33, entre el enlace con la RM-424 en Yecla y el enlace con la N-344 en Caudete

There will be two new interchanges near Yecla, on RM-424 and RM-425, the latter will also serve traffic to Villena.

The construction cost is € 88.8 million (€ 5.5 million per kilometer). No opening date is given, but I suppose the media will figure out the contract duration.

I think this is the final segment of A-33 to have started construction.

The only information I've been able to find about opening dates is this sentence in an article from the local Yecla press:

"Fomento tiene una proyección presupuestaria de la obra que concluirá en 2023, aunque puede que se termine antes como ha ocurrido en el tramo entre Yecla y Jumilla. Para 2020 son 8 millones de euros los que destinará Fomento a la obra."

English translation: According to the Fomento budgetary forecast for these works, the section will be finished in 2023, although it could be completed earlier, as it was the case in the section between Yecla and Jumilla. In 2020, 8M € will be allocated to these works.

I don't know the conditions of this project, but lately the money allocated to each year has been artificially reduced and in many occasions, this quantities are taken to an "extra year". I suppose this is caused by the restrictions in budgetary policies of not compromising money for following years above a percentage of the quantity included in the last approved budget.

The first serious snowfall of the season is forecasted in Spain this weekend, mainly above 800-1000 meters. Many motorways are in this altitude range and even slightly above, so I think we can expect some incidents and closures. And maybe some flash flood damage at lower elevations along the north slope.

CV-500

They want to convert CV-500 from an autovía to a two-lane parkway south of Valencia.

This is actually one of the oldest autovías in the region, it was built during the 1970s, apparently to cater to beach tourism and day trips, there aren't a lot of towns on that route.

There is a protest against the plans to downgrade CV-500:

N-625 Camporriondi, Asturias

N-625 in the Camporriondi Canyon in Asturias has opened to traffic with two lanes. The road was closed since May due to several washouts during flash floods.

I am not sure but I guess It is the only national road over a national park (park was created in 1918 and enlarged in 80ish. Road...I do not know when it remained national road nor when it was paved)

CyL: Plan Regional Sectorial de Carreteras 2008-2020

I came across the Plan Regional Sectorial de Carreteras 2008-2020 of Castilla y León.

I think they went a little overboard with the regional autovía plans.

CL-101 in addition to A-15? CL-626 between Villablino and Piedrafita? CL-628 between Medina de Pomar and Villarcayo? I drove in those areas in September, there was only light traffic and these are not major transit routes either.

Basically none of these autovía plans were actually realized....

Around here it's already snowing below 1,500 m. I've even seen snow ploughs on the AP-68, at a much lower altitude.

La Rioja's regional government planned some unnecessary autovías too. Fortunately they were never built.

There is a protest against the plans to downgrade CV-500:
CV-500 was meant to be A-7 when it was first built. However, plans to route A-7 across the Albufera were abandoned due to protests about its environmental value (this could be the first infrastructure project to be cancelled due to environmental concerns in Spain). A-7 was later built to enter Valencia via Silla, and CV-500 is currently a stub with very little traffic.

This is what remains of the original A-7 plan.
