Im thinking Los Angeles because of its car culture, Atlanta, New York cause of the sheer number of people who leave manhatten everyday, Chicago.

Olathe, Kansas has dreadful traffic, and not just on the highways. I once was trapped at a stoplight turn lane for 10 minutes as a traffic light cycled 4 times before I could make a left turn off of Strang Line Rd. onto 119th street.

I think mega cities in developing countries like Sao Paulo, Mumbai, and Jakarta have the worst traffic.

I agree...the traffic there makes American commutes look easy...

NYC traffic, as always, is horrible. When I went last week, the minute that I got into the Bronx, I got stuck in traffic. This happens all the time. I hate the I-95...

Hartford's traffic blows also.

NY's traffic is actually not too bad since most people use mass transit. This is especially true since it has 21m people in the metro and relatively small highways and parkways compared to newer cities outside of the Northeast.

Imagine how bad it would be if there wasn't good public transportation...

It would be terrible. DC, by contrast, has very poor mass transit (especially on the Virginia side). Therefore, although its metro population is 1/4 of NY's and although its parkways are much wider, its traffic is much worse than NY's since most people in the DC area drive to work.

No disagreements there, DC's traffic jams are legendary. Especially on the beltway.

NYC's Connecticut suburbs have horrible traffic though, I-95 there is a mess.

I agree. Metro Manila is the same size as the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, yet under the worst traffic conditions, it would take one hour to travel from one end of the Valley to the other. In Metro Manila, under normal traffic conditions, it takes THREE HOURS to travel the same distance!!!

Manila's South SuperHighway makes the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles look like an empty Montana highway...

I also heard Bangkok has horrible traffic too.

Miami has HORRIBLE traffic, particularly in the suburbs. It took me 2 hours to complete my 10 mile journey to work on Thursday. SR-826 (The Palmetto Expressway) was jammed solid and the traffic was gridlocked everywhere I would turn. I-95 is also notoriously bad and there are accidents occuring almost hourly.

I blame lack of public transportation, unregulated population growth (with no thought given to improving transport infrastructure....just BUILD! BUILD! BUILD!), too many intersections, insanely bad/rude drivers, school zones every 10 yards and generally inadequate roads and few freeways / expressways, particularly in South Dade.

Driving here is a nightmare....worse than Los Angeles, IMO.

I think this is Cairo. It doesn't look like it would be a nice experience (on the roads).
