So Paulo city.

So Paulo has the worst traffic, that's for sure.

How about more than 150 km of traffic jam almost every day?

No, Khalek, that's not one traffic jam. Is the sum of the main avenues traffic jam. They have that measure all the time.

If you want to check, take a look at:

http://cetsp1.cetsp.com.br/mapadefluidez/mapaflui.asp

Normaly, there 70/80km. but some days they reach 170 km.

It is not so much. Paris has more than 300 km of traffic jam in rush hours every workdays. (So Paulo has more than the twice of Paris population.)

I think it is more in cities like Los Angeles.

The worst I've experienced was in Beijing: within the city traffic is insane, but as soon as you venture beyond the city borders, traffic looks more like a scary, mechanised Darwinian experiment (only the strong survive)

Not as unreal as those Lima and Moscow pics, though

I know Paris very well and it never has 300 km of traffic jam. I've never been more than 15 minutes trapped in a traffic jam there. Except for a transportation strike or going out the city in summer. Maybe the chriteria are different. In SP that number is the lenght of "trapped traffic" in mains avenues, it doens't consider every corner of the city.
For people from So Paulo, the traffic in Paris is a dream.

Yes, every workday in rush hours paris has 300 km of traffic jam.
In Paris it is also the the lenght of "trapped traffic" in mains avenues, freeways and motorways.
300 kilometre it is not only the center but it is the whole metro area.
It is write here "entre 200 et 300 km de bouchons tous les jours autour de Paris" (s'il n'y a pas de grve !.)
but now the traffic is worse and it is every worday 300 km of traffic jam. 200 km of traffic jam is a good day.

Paris has too many traffic lights and it cause those traffic.

Well. that's the difference. The measure there in SP is made only inside what they call "expanded center" which is a not big area. All the metropolitan area is excluded.

But, believe me, a day in the SP traffic is a hell day, You going to miss Paris.

All big Latin Americas capitals are the same: Santiago, Lima. Caracas, Mexico City due to the lack on investment.

As far as I know, Cairo is really incredible. Not only because of the jam, but the way they drive..., they do not ever use a mirror, they have their horns to make themselves visible

As far as I was moving around the world, I would say that some italian cities (like Naples or Milan) aren't that driver-friendly... Confine lanes, stupid and aggressive drivers (not at all, of course, but unfortunately a mass! sry italianos ) and strange use of road signs... But I think Cairo shall be much worser than that

Paris ? No way. Quite well done, but too much cars. (Place Charles de Gaulle is an exception : no rules, no lines, just get in and try to get out without turning 5 times around Triumph Arch)

Casablanca in Morocco is a nice training (watch out the crossing children, women with babies, coming from nowhere), before trying Cairo, the true experience, in my opinion (drove there several times : the first time you're quite sure you're going to die. Strangely, after all, did not see too much accidents). Beijing is quite fine compared to those places. Amsterdam is not very funny with a car, also....
