Simple derivations,
- Reduced aircraft movements leading to increased price per seat.
- Reduced aircraft movements translating to reduced pax.
- Increased price leading to reduced pax.

Great going...

I understand that the BJP Kerala Minister, though from Thalassery, is settled in Trivandrum. May be he can sort out the issues facing TRV. Or will he be active in Trivandrum only in 2024!

And for movements - while it is a proxy for capacity, there have been ATR additions, with all withdrawals being narrowbody. So the capacity decrease is worse than the aircraft numbers suggest.

No worries. The decline started last September. So, two more months and we will see positive growth again!

People and Organisations should not hesitate to invite him for functions, meetings, and inaugurations and push him with their wish list. Else, the situation will remain as Modi 1 govt.

it is good that Pon R. was given a drubbing by KK people. So those anti TRV project will be on hold for a while. This gives the Kerala Minister some room for lobbying in our favour. But getting invited to functions will probably be limited to Central Govt. functions when the PM himself is present, like when the KR was invited to the inaugration of the Metro in Central Kerala. It does not stop Civil Society to remind the minister of the needs of Trivandrum. I will be shortly sending a reminder to ST to take up the matter of Foreign Post Office. Unfortunately, Manoj Sinha lost the election and no longer a minister, but may be VM can push it for Trivandrum.

Yes, this is a combination that can work out for Trivandrum. VM is a central minister now. But I am not sure about his lobbying and persuasion skills especially with his hindi speaking colleagues in the ministry. Here is where a seasoned lobbyist, influencer and master of languages like ST can complement. If we push our needs through ST and also directly through VM, we should se significant movement for things in Trivandrum.

Land acquisition for airport: Notification likely this month

Quote:
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The rehabilitation and resettlement package for land acquisition for the development of Trivandrum International Airport is likely to be published this month. The land acquisition wing at district collectorate has sent a detailed report on the package to the land revenue commissioner for approval. A notification will be issued once the commissioner approves it.

Eighteen acres at in Pettah village has been demarcated for airport development. The airport authority has proposed to build an integrated terminal to improve the standard of the airport. The report sent to land revenue commissioner consists of a list of 171 land owners in the area and the details of the package for those staying at Vayyamoola . A preliminary notification on the ownership of land marked for acquisition and draft rehabilitation and resettlement package was released in January, following which public hearing to raise any objection or demands in this regard was held on January 24. The land acquisition wing had submitted a report regarding the public hearing to land revenue commissionerate in March, which was sent back for clarification on details of evictees.

As per the Land Acquisition Act, the details of the evictees and their property and the proposed package will be published once approval is received from land revenue commissioner. The revised report was submitted on Friday. If the report is approved by the land revenue commissioner, then the declaration of land acquisition can be published this month, said an official with district administration.

After the notification for declaration of land acquisition is published, a team comprising special tahsildar for airport land acquisition will prepare a report on the land value for land and property of the evictees in the project. The compensation for evictees will be decided based on the report. The data for land survey has been collected by special tahsildar and using the details, the team will calculate the land value. We have not received any directive from the government to stop the acquisition work. The monthly meeting on acquisition, which was not held for the past two months due to election, will be held in two weeks, add the official.

Meanwhile, a group of residents under the banner of Vallakadavu-Vayyamoola Joint Action Council, have opposed the acquisition and did not attend the public hearing in view of proposed privatization of the airport.

I get a feeling that Mr. Thomas is working overtime for a Severance Package from Nissan. That could be lucrative.
