The first financial business process outsourcing (BPO) firm in Amaravati is likely to come up in the information technology special economic zone (SEZ) at Gannavaram. It is learnt that the BPO will be housed at Medha Towers.
According to information, 42,000 sft of space has been allotted to the BPO which is expected to create jobs for 350 people in the first phase. Medha Towers has a built-up area of 2,00,000 sft.
It may be recalled that Medha IT Towers, a joint venture by the special purpose vehicle comprising L&T and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), was built in 2008 and subsequently failed to attract IT firms for various reasons. While L&T holds a major share of 74 per cent, APIIC has 26 per cent.
Even though there were reports that the Andhra Pradesh government had asked the Union government to denotify the SEZ, vice-chairman and managing director of APIIC J Nivas told TOI that the proposal to denotify is still in the early stage.

Recruitments soon for HCL Vijayawada

Here is good news for young managers in Andhra Pradesh. HCL Technologies Limited is planning to open its branch in Vijayawada and operate from the State capital soon.

Projects evaluated

Company representatives, including HCL vice-president Ganesh Kumar, general manager Ramachandran, associate general manager Nihal Ahmed, Ramakrishnan Raja Gopalan, senior manager Raja Murugan and others visited the P.B. The company executives agreed to establish its branch in Vijayawada. Very soon, HCL A.P. unit will be opened in Medha Towers at Gannavaram. As many as 1,000 students of business management and other streams would get jobs in the company, said College Dean J. Rajesh. “HCL will conduct recruitment drive for the Vijayawada office soon. Efftronics plans 1,000-seat facility in Mangalagiri

http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper...le18194386.ece

It is likely to be completed in a year: MD

After announcements by HCL and other smaller IT companies, another IT firm has come up with good news for job-seekers in the capital region.

The Vijayawada-based software solutions company, Efftronics Systems, will soon be coming up with its new facility in Mangalagiri to accommodate its expansion plans.

The company is planning to grow five times its current capacity by 2022, according to its Managing Director D. Rama Krishna.

India’s fourth largest IT firm HCL Technologies had announced that it would set up a Rs. 1,000-crore development centre in the Amaravati region.

About 10 smaller IT firms have set up their shop in Vijayawada.

Mr. Rama Krishna told The Hindu here that the software firm was taking a giant leap into the next wave of technological boom that was witnessed across the world.

“The traditional IT jobs that we have today will largely be automated and the workforce is expected to be a part of the top-level strategic planning and management. Our expansion is happening in that direction. We will be a Rs. 500-crore company in five years from now,” he said.

Further expansions were not ruled out if the situation demanded, he added.

The company is investing about Rs. 20 crore in a state-of-art facility in an acre at Mangalagiri and it is most likely to be completed in a year to accommodate more than 1,000 staff members. The 30-year-old company has successful partnership with te Indian Railways, Andhra Pradesh government on smart signalling and other solutions.

The company has over 600 people working from its office space in Vijayawada.

Rs. 1.3 lakh cr. opportunity

The company is planning to invest in smart solutions, smart buildings, Internet of Things and solutions for smart cities.

“We see a lot of growth opportunity in these segments. Over 50% of the world population will be moving to cities by 2050, according to United Nations projections. Our effort is to cater to the future needs. We are also focused on the nine cities that are coming up within the Amaravati capital region,” Mr. Rama Krishna added.

The smart solutions business in the proposed 100 smart cities, 500 Amrut cities, seven Hriday cities and 13 solar cities in India is estimated at Rs. 1.3 lakh crore, according to him.

The company has successful partnership with Indian Railways, State government on smart signalling and other solutions.

Lokesh hand for IT touch

http://www.thehansindia.com/posts/in...-touch-/297213

Medha Towers, strategically positioned near Gannavaram airport on the other side of the Kolkata National Highway, is poised to turn in to an IT hub. IT Minister N Lokesh will launch the operations of seven overseas IT companies in the premises of Medha Towers on Wednesday.

The high-end companies which will commence their operations in the towers include Groupto Antolin, IES (Spanish & German companies), Rotomaker, Chandu Soft, Melsova, EP SOFT and Yamyah IT Solutions (United States-based companies) will create about 1,500 jobs, said Dr Ravi Vemuru, CEO, Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society, in a media release.

These companies dealing in high-end automotive interiors designing, IT consultancy, digital educational services, IT/ITES services, projects and products among other things will be a big boost to the area, he hoped. “Creating an ideal IT ecosystem requires an available pool of talented resources and companies.

We have been actively working in facilitating and coordinating students, training institutes and IT companies to build that strong ecosystem. Andhra Pradesh is very fortunate to have all these ingredients and a visionary Chief Minister with a proven track record, he said.

“The young and dynamic IT minister, with his undaunted determination to see the state grow, has infused renewed energy into this drive. We are seeing the immediate results of this energy in Amaravati and Visakhapatnam with the influx of several IT companies,” Vemuru said.

APNRT has also launched a unique one of a kind integrating web-based networking portal -- www.itcentral.in an ecosystem to service and connect all incoming companies, training institutes and students seeking jobs, matching the right people to the right jobs or skill training.

These seven companies are Inspire Labs Technologies, Supreme Netsoft Pvt Limited, Nveira Technologies, Steinmetz Integrated Learning Solutions, Ealearn Solutions Pvt Limited, Dr Computer and Cresol
Infoserv.

PhyCare Services India Pvt. Ltd. (PSIPL) in Mangalagiri

http://www.thehindu.com/news/nationa...le19327465.ece

He inaugurates PhyCare Services in Mangalagiri

Minister for Information Technology N. Lokesh said on Friday that a policy on Cloud Hub and Artificial Intelligence (AI) was on the anvil to facilitate the entry of IT companies specialising in these domains, and asserted that two lakh jobs (1,00,000 each in the IT/ITES and electronics manufacturing/assembly sectors) would be created in the next two years.

Inaugurating PhyCare Services India Pvt. Ltd. (PSIPL), a leading BPO in health care, at the AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation’s (APIIC) 22-acre IT cluster here in the presence of Principal Secretary (IT) K. Vijayanand, APIIC Executive Chairman P. Krishnaiah, and PhyCare CEO Sudha Pentyala, he said an investment of ₹220 crore had already been made and 200 acres allotted to IT companies in Amaravati. Besides, HCL Technologies was poised to commence operations at Gannavaram in the near future.

“In 1995-96, people laughed at the idea of transforming the present Cyberabad into an IT hub. At that time, there was nothing there except stones. A single-lane road lead to the rocky area. Today, it is the most sought-after destination for IT companies in India. Similarly, the Mangalagiri IT cluster may not be a big thing now, but I am sure it will grow into a vibrant IT ecosystem over the years,” Mr. Lokesh observed.

The Minister said nearly 30% of the IT employees in foreign countries were from AP and they were keen on setting up units in their native State. The government would extend all support, like it helped the PSIPL, in foraying into the capital region to give them the best ecosystem and provide the much-needed jobs to local youth.

Mr. Lokesh said two out of every 10 cellular phones made in India were from Sri City, which was giving a tough competition to the Gurgaon-Noida industrial belt.

Karbonn is establishing its unit in Sri City and it is scheduled to be inaugurated in September. The government plans to offer training in operating drones in three months and it is setting up Centres of Excellence (CoE) like the one it envisages for smart cities.
