I believe 15,1% is actually a conservative number, considering no growth due to the FIFA World Cup is factored into this calculation, but just look how CTIA is likely to grow:

2007: 8.32mil PAX (known)
2008: 9.58mil PAX
2009: 11.02mil PAX
2010: 12.69mil PAX
2011: 14.60mil PAX
2012: 16.81mil PAX
2013: 19.35mil PAX

CTIA can handle 16 million p/a after the new terminal.
I think it will only reach that in 2015.

I think we are all being highly optimistic in our passenger growth calculations and i dont see the 15% growth continuing at all. I think we need to be looking more at the 7-12% range.

Agreed... except more "airy" and less afro-contemporary and more Asian airport looking.

Looks very good. Yes does look like some of the Asian airports. Reminds me of Ho Chi Minh City airport.

Unfortunately growth has slowed down to 5-10% this year and is unlikely to increase until 2010. CPT should see decent growth in international pax for 2008 for the first time in several years thanks to Emirates and Delta.

Greg, do you know what the decision was regarding Delta's flights from JFK? Due to the Kenyan crisis, there were rumours it would be a daily flight as they sacrificed Nairobi... what is the scoop now? When does it start this winter?

Delta's CPT service will be 4x weekly commencing in June. The NBO service is still going ahead but later than initially scheduled.

Engineering News stated today that Turkish Airlines is joining the Star Alliance... you all know what that means... no Turkish Airlines for Cape Town anymore, SAA will make them truncate their service in Jo'burg and ferry their passengers to CTIA.

Went to CTIA on Saturday to drop a friend off...
Progress made is amazing. The Central Terminal Building's framework is complete, the "Y" struts holding the curved roof are in place. The internal walls are starting to take shape. The elevated road is pretty much reaching structural completion. However, I did not have my camera with me...
But, flying to Jozi this Friday, so will get some pics of the progress, promise!
