Sorry, it's only my opinion as an architect. I always take a notice in terms of architecture, wherever the building is.

I was talking about that examples:

These three often clog thread.
Ok, tell me why me. The forum is about cities and architecture. Why shouldn't I express my opinion here?

Blackhavvk,

I'd appreciate if you talk about skylines and not point fingers since you joined the forum in 2013 like yesterday!

I provided numerical facts ! you can discuss facts and state numerical argument not trade insults!

He clearly showed the buildings he thinks are kitchy, and they are on the same lvl as those you just showed in the first picture. Moscows skyline isn't made from just that one, new bussines area.

Nubian Warrior, he's right! Every thing here is a matter of opinion and everybody is entitled to their own opinion without others getting bent out of shape. It's all arbitrary and a matter of opinion anyway. If you are going to talk like this, naturally people are going to come down on you. You should tone it down a bit.

According to SSC rules, it is. We've already established this.

This is irrelevant off-topic conversation. Stay on point please, all of you.

This source starts at 90m. I prefer the 150m mark, but as you said, it's all arbitrary.

What are the rules?
This list is an attempt to rank the impressiveness of city skylines. The score of a city is equal to the sum of all building heights (structural height, in m) after substraction of the minimum of 90m/295ft for each building. Freestanding towers (not skyscrapres) count for half their height. Only completed and topped-out buildings are included. [more details]

Using your source it would stand down like that:
1- Russia | Moscow
2- Turkey | Istanbul
3- France | Paris
4- UK | London
5- Germany | Frankfurt

Moscow is by far the most impressive skyline. That is beyond question.

But the skyline could still tolerate more buildings with a other facade than glass.

Well, it doesn't impress me. Individual buildings looks good, together it just doesn't fit together.
Just because something is big, doesn't mean it's better.

Anyone who thinks differently is either blind or hasn't travelled.

You have to be rated to be overrated.

IMO London's skyline currently is to spread out as it's to large. If you bung all of the skyscrapers into one central place though such as every other city it's competing with on this thread it would be so far ahead.

That's why I think many believe that London with the hundreds of towers going up, adding tremendous density and further height will go to another level once it starts coming to fruition.

There was a great picture posted yesterday which showed the Isle of Dogs, Greenwich Peninsular which when complete will be incredible.

The area around the Millennium Dome has dozens of towers planned. You've got the small but growing cluster near Ontario Tower adjacent to the Millennium Dome, then you have Canary Wharf itself which has over 30 towers over 100m approved or U/C alone.

When the city adds The Bishopsgate tower, Scapel and starts spreading our to the Goodsyards, when Beetham joins the southbank alondside Wanda's towers and 9 Elms starts getting taller with a dozen or so 150m+ blocks. The skyline from any angle is going to look joined and consistant and that's when there will only be one answer to this question.
