Is that a coffee shop at ground level? Open to the public?

I still can't believe they pulled this off in just over a year.. a few other contractors could learn a thing or two.

Although I understand Student Accommodation is probably easier and cheaper to pull off.

Well they were working on this after 6pm on Friday when I took my photos. Clearly this is not on schedule. They may be making a loss.

I think this is a contender for the best student accommodation in Brum. The other contenders are The Globe Works and Bentley House. The Toybox would win easily if the green ceramic tiles were a consistent colour.

At the weekend I overheard some students say that this was their address. Is part of it already being lived in? Much of it looks to still be a fair way away from completion, but I guess certain parts of the building could be ready. Still, I'm impressed with the pace of progress on this, it is less than 2 years since the planning app became publicly available and in that time demolition, groundworks, and 95% of construction etc have taken place.

In the sunshine, Wednesday afternoon as seen from Gas Street. Will be a great view for the students on the higher floors. I lived on the 10th floor of a block in Manchester while at Uni and i loved the views from the balcony.
