I was siting at old town during my trip back for CNY, It is just right across old town. Malim is a strategic location with small business and also factories surrounding it. Hopefully in the future, more development will be carry out in this location. but it is too close to the airport, so pretty doubt any high-rise can be plan around.

Thought it was normal for airlines to ask government for money to cover the empty seats on each flight to destinations that aren't really high in demands or new destinations that they aren't sure of the demands yet.

Yeah, only in Malaysia where the GLCs don't need to compete like the rest of the country (or the world).

Ever thought why MAS was bleeding money?

MELAKA CITY : Plans to re-develop Pulau Upeh, one of the country’s top Hawksbill turtle nesting sites, has been deferred by the Melaka state government pending the outcome of environmental and fisheries impact assessment (EIA and FIA) reports.

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam told reporters that studies will be carried out to determine if the proposed project by a private company will pose a threat to the turtles’ landing and nesting patterns. If the studies show

that the project is harmful to the turtles, it will be scrapped.Mohd Ali said that the proposed project to revive an abandoned resort and chalets on the island, which was scheduled to begin this month, will hinge on the outcome of the studies.

Located off the reclaimed land in Limbongan, the 2.5 hectare island has a 100 metre stretch of beach which is home to an estimated 100 turtle-nests, representing more than twenty percent of the entire estimated 350 nests in Peninsular Malaysia.

It was in the late 1980s that the Melaka State Economic Development Corporation developed a resort and 120 chalets on the island. It was abandoned in the mid-1990s. In 2003 it was sold to Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) for RM10.4mil as a training centre. In 2009, the state bought it back from TNB for RM6.5mil.

An earlier proposal to the Fisheries Department to convert the island into a turtle-nesting centre fell through due to lack of federal funds. On July 15, Mohd Ali announced plans to revive the island’s chalets, including building 80 additional units in a move to tap the eco-tourism market. His announcement caused an outcry from members of the public, including WWF-Malaysia, that the project will adversely affect the turtles.

they (MRAILS + CMI) had their visit tour to Pulau Upeh yesterday.
New project

the same "people" :- (MRAILS INTERNATIONAL SDN BHD has recently succeeded a Tram Project in the State of Melaka. The said project was assigned to MRAILS TRAM (MELAKA) SDN BHD (SPV). The Agreement was officiated between MRAILS TRAM (MELAKA) SDN BHD and the Chief Minister Incorporation (CMI) on the 3rd March 2010.
