Nothing as of yet. There was an old building there that was burned last year, and it was recently demolished.

Wow this definitely changes everything. I'm very unlikely to go back to Connecticut but Stamford has really improved a lot in recent years. Tons of residential in and around downtown, and this fills in a massive lot that I really didn't know what they were doing with when demand is this high. Now Stamford is a good, relatively urban satellite city of NYC with high amounts of both offices and apartments.

Stamford | St John Apartment Towers Renovation

these are unique buildings. I'll be disappointed if they change too much. This early rendering has me very worried. 2 are being renovated and I believe the last will be demolished and replaced.

Renovation plans for Stamford’s St. John Towers move forward

an aerial photo of Stamford. The new Atlantic Station tower's reflective cladding camouflages it.

Pic is about a year old. That big empty plot in the center is now U/C with Urby. The real downtown is in the bottom right, there's definitely a lot that can be done to increase street life through the rest of the center.

STAMFORD |St John Tower A Redevelopment | 16 floors | 400 units

400 luxury units over 16 floors makes me think there might be more than one building. This is right next to Atlantic Station, I wish they would go higher...

Stamford | 600 Washington Blvd. Residential Buildings

Stamford is bustling again.

Point of Interest: RBS plan for residential units on vacant lot moves forward

Quote:
RBS has garnered Zoning Board approval of general plan modifications to build residential buildings on vacant land behind its office building on Washington Boulevard. The plans, which call for constructing two buildings consisting of 456 units and 567 parking spaces, will next go back to city land-use boards with specific outlines if RBS continues to pursue the development. According to tax records, the property’s land alone was appraised at $31.5 million last year. The 12-story office building only takes up a slice of the 4.25-acre site. Part of the approved general outline calls for nearly 40,000 square feet of land along the Mill River to be set aside for public access and the potential expansion of Mill River Park.

Downtown Stamford and some of the neighboring areas could use a Pedestrian Safety overall. Crossing the street is like playing frogger even with the traffic lights...
