i LOVES IT!!! lol

For those who think it needs more "talls" there will be 1 700ft+, 2 600ft+ and 2 500ft+ buildings under construction this summer. Hopefully within the year a 1000ft+ (Trump) and 2 to 4 more 500ft+ buildings!

I think the Skydome is pretty signature as well.

How many world skylines have a huge 300ft tall dome as a focal point?

It's OPINION. You can't possibly disagree with people who love Toronto's skyline for that simple reason. Isn't that great? You just can't.

Carry on and don't be bothered, guys.

I dont understand what you are trying to say. People can like Torontos skyline. Im saying its not as good as some people make out.

And it is certainly not the most recognizable in the world.

Thanks for respecting my opinion.

No. NYC without the World Trade Centre is still a great skyline.

And the reason I dont think the Toronto Skyline/CN Tower is that great is that these towers are just huge pieces of concrete put up with no real purpose- and they are commonplace around the world. When I think skytower, I think Seattle, not Toronto. Even Calgary has one.

I actually like Torontos skyline, its important buildings stand out, and the mid rises make the skyline dense, and to top off a iconic landmark sticks out of the skyline the most. 9.5

NYC and HK are always the exception in those kinds of statements.

500m towers are not commonplace around the world.

Cn tower is iconic and a landmark. It was the tallest freestanding building in the world for many many years.

Just ignore "BeachRes44". New profile, same old killjoy. As long as making new profiles is free we will see different variants of "BeachRes44".

I give TO 8.5...the main cluster at night looks fantastic, especially in aerial view......could do with a couple more talls.......
I don't like the area around the stadium...bit yuck....but overall nice skyline, good density.

"It was the tallest freestanding building in the world for many many years."

It still is...at least for a while. In 3 days (June 26 ), it will celebrate 30 years as the world's tallest building (free-standing structure...whatever).

Had a wonderful day out on the Toronto Islands and captured these pictures. I'll let them speak for themselves...

Another reason why I find the skyline 'ordinary' is that the buildings do not have enough individual character as in other skylines. San Francisco has the Transamerica building, Los Angeles has the US Bank tower, Chicago has the Sears Tower and Hancock Center, New York has the ESB, and Chrysler. While Toronto really has nothing but large boxes.
Show me a photo of another city that could pass as Toronto.

While you're at it, show me a building that could pass as the Scotia Tower, or the gold-covered Royal Bank Plaza. Show me a pic of another CN-tower, not of a tower that's half it's height. Also, please include a photo of a skydome not from Toronto, one with a completely retractable roof. Oh, and a pic of 5 Mies van de Rohe towers all together would be nice, I'm sure that's commonplace in most other cities.

chump!

Um, of course a city has its own features- does not make it the most recognizable in the world though.

And just a little fact for you- there are many domes with re. roofs around the world.

I dont even know what Mies van de Rohe towers are- but these must be important to you Torontoans so I wont argue that.

Nice to know that Toronto people allow criticizms of their city.

6.5/10, it could really do with some variations, rather than mostly blocks, scotia plaza(?), is nice, but i dont really like the other buildings, hopefully trump, and saphire will add some depth, and aesthetics to the skyline as they look like very nice towers. pardon my english im learning at the moment.

More over, i really hate what they did with that spire (CN Tower) it makes the skyline look smaller then it is, it should have been 100-150m shorter. it is just way to tall, and makes 300m buildings look like 150m ones. Hope you appreciate my opinion.

Absolutely appreciate it mate! No need to feel unsure of giving your opinion. I know how you feel as I would give Sydney a 6.5/10 because of all its mostly blocks and 70's office towers. The wonderful thing about a democracy is we can all give our opinions!

Nice, love the density, a little boxy, but still a nice skyline. 8/10.
