Brilliant. At last this street will be completed... A butt ugly corner in town at present. This, along with the arch will help to go some way to making the area a lot more attractive.

Don't think Bio likes it lol! The corner does need sorting out and the little historic frontage is worked into it so that helps. The Silver Blades is better next door but let's get some density around here. Oh and cheers Sefton for all these updates, OBE for that man!

It's just so tedious. They manage to ruin the old buildings by sticking a metal shed above them and the most prominent part of the building is the corner but then they make it lopsided!

The basics are fine, good ground floor use and layout, glad they are using brick, but they really need to make the corner more prominent and balanced, and sort out how they are treating the old building. They should get rid of the grey cladding and have a strong brick parapet - the Victorians managed to do it FFS.

I really liked the old hotel proposal, but the retail space at ground floor level will hopefully still give the corner some life.
Potentially two starts next year then, with this and the ice rink redevelopment.
I wonder if we'll also get something across the way on Bromsgrove Street on the old Armouries site, land around it all been cleared now, would be great to see the old building retained fully within a new scheme.

Be great to see movement on this scheme and get rid of what is a really ugly plot.

Gallan will have to buy another plot for a surface car park if they develop this site though

Great, student blocks usually go up quite fast, I take it this will be ready for 2016 Sept.

I've just looked at the planning app, and I'm a little confused, because the design has been amended as of 05 March 2015, so can this be approved already?

I've grabbed the amended renders compared to the 'submitted' renders, I must say, it looks much better without all the grey, it's a shame we lost the corner though, overall a great improvment!
