Hope so, if homes are really in such demand in the city then I see no reason for this not to begin.

If it isn't the obligatory temporary car park, we may be seeing a start here!
I don't know this part of town at all, is there much site clearance needed??

Fingers crossed. Good news if so.

Look forward to seeing some progress.

Not that I can remember. Just wasteland. No buildings.

I believe this is the site:

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/...81fef0aeee7998

It's set back from Holloway Head slightly.

There's an old pub on the corner of Windmill Street and Bow Street, will this be incorporated into the scheme do we know?

State of play at the moment. Lots of rubble.

Never truly appreciated how large this site was. Show how the area really does need some investment.

Your telling me, and just across the road from a shiny Radisson blu luxury hotel. It looks like something from a "soviet" era. Quite depressing actually to see what is almost our city centre looking like this. Im a proud brummie at the best of times but I do sometimes have real concerns about this city and where it is going. How can we have large swathes of the city still looking like a load of crap.

Note further up the hill, no progress on the new school but they're on-site on the running track - if I remember correctly this is being restored?

Yup this is partly the reason why we see lower rise buildings compared to other cities, until these plots are filled there won't be the need to go big unfortunately.

I know people slated the morrisons five ways project but in a way it has done us a favour by filling a large empty plot, had they not, seven capital may have for instance built there at 4 stories and cut Landsdowne house down to 6 floors instead of the 18 etc.

The good thing is the build cost to return for a supermarket work quite well that if in the future the original plans become viable then I'm sure morrisons would be willing to start again and anchor an office/resi developmemt

Get the empty sites filled, the towers will follow

The city centre is buzzing at the moment, just imagine if all the vacant sites got filled with low/mid rise apartment blocks, more demand for other things = more to be built and added to the area

from the documents it's a different site, the app I posted is the car park by the wine symbol below

You can see it in use as a car park just behind the hotel, talks in the documents as having retail at ground floor to take opportunity of the hotel guests opposite

I hope so. I really hope so. Maybe Holloway Head is beginning to take off with this and the site that Anthony McCourt is buying. There is so much potential here.
