Birmingham's central skyline is huge .... just needs to be a little taller now.

Have to admit, much preferred the 'mini Heron' design.
Fortunately, this is still a 'render'. The City Council, Planners & Developer know what a sensitive site this is, right in the heart of Birmingham's historical core. You'd hope they wouldn't make the same mistake twice in the space of 40 years on the same site

This was how I was imagining it, if the rear block was lowered to the same height as the front one.

It's sad not to see this or 3 & 4 Snow Hill built but at least we're getting Lumina now.

Would the new proposal not look better if it had the same materials as this. The old glass tower proposal didn't look like it stood out as much, apart from height wise.

It looks amazing from street level. That view from the Town Hall is awful though. It shouldn't have those awful different colours either. Bit of a missed opportunity I fear

Just spotted the air traffic control tower in amongst the city centre buildings. They must have a great view from there.

interesting to see that they intend to build the tower speculatively!!! should mean that they can build it when they want without waiting for an occupier...

I've tried not to be negative here but yhere's no escaping it....it's horrible IMO.

Featureless, no imagination and over-imposing.

I'll shut up now.

no carry on! It is unimaginative. The lower floors and lobby are nice but the bulk is bland. Natwest was interesting in design.

My one small issue, it should have steel colonnades on newhall st.

The section fronting Colmore Row should be reduced in height and clad differently - the steel pillars should be stone clad and expressed up the full height of this fašade. For me this would help reduce the bulk, give the building more personality and tie it in better with its neighbours.

You sure?? The Town Hall side of the new proposal is a huge improvement to the British Land proposal. Surely this alone deserves some merit?
