Don't need another public square that is close to Victoria and Chamberlain Square's.

I do too. But it looks a bit plain. Could do with some gold across the top where the restaurant is or something.

They were aiming to put in a planning app in May, so we could hear something soon.

Subtly different. Better from the side.

An improvement

Wish they'd gone for the black fins all over though!

I agree. It's truly diabolical.

It either had to be in the same style as the surrounding buildings or a beatufiul modern masterpiece.

Wonderful design, fantastic at street level, it's just far too overbearing for what's actually a very attractive part of Birmingham City Centre.

The architect must of knocked this out on a napkin over lunch at Marco Pierre Whites gaff in The Cube.

Needs to shuffle along to Snowhill & hang out with its equally boring mid rise mates. At least it will provide a bit of variety in height over there if it did!

Seriously this plot needs something more in keeping - I'm not talking retro as were crap in the UK at replicating the past, but something eye catching at a generous height to its surroundings.

Some curves & colour FFS!!!😝

This looks good to me, a less busy appearance and more imposing.

The render overlooking the Cathedral is especially pleasing - the dimensions respect the square well.

The renders remind me of different size books placed side by side on a book shelf ..... would've looked great opposite the new Library of Birmingham on Centenary Square.

Sort of agree with you .... but far better than the hideous NatWest Tower which currently sits on this site like an old wart.

The City of London has some very attractive 19th Century Buildings too .... but also have some very modern 20th & 21st Century structures mixed in .... some good (Gherkin) some not so good (Heron Tower) .... in my personal opinion anyway!

Not at all - I mean in height not design - hence my ref to avoiding a retro build. Surely we can come up with something more inspiring.

It's just a piss boring example of the kind of crap that's found in most Brit cities these days.
