LoHud: White Plains to get 2 new apartment buildings

Quote:
WHITE PLAINS – — The redevelopment of land surrounding the downtown transit hub took a big step forward Thursday with the announcement of a new project at 55 Bank St. that will include two 16-story apartment buildings.
It's good news for people looking for walk-to-train market-rate rental apartments. The site, currently a commuter parking lot, is just south of the train station.
The 760,000-square-foot complex will include 449 market-rate rental apartments, 112 affordable rental units, 6,300 square feet of retail space and a 570-space parking garage.

LCOR’s $250 million, 760,000 sq. ft. mixed use project at 55 Bank St., White Plains, broke ground last Friday. It is being touted as the first major residential development project since 2009.

Located a block away from the White Plains train station, the development is transportation focused, featuring residential units with local retail and underground parking.

Phase 1 of the project, which kicked off last week, will include a 16-story, 288-unit residential building with 3,000 square feet of ground floor retail space and 381 parking spaces.

They've already made a sizable pit. 2 cranes are on site. There's a fence on the other side of the site from Nexis' photo which is short enough that you can peak over the top and see most of the site.

photos taken today by myself

There is a lot of heavy steel being erected at the site today.

Just one. They were pouring concrete into the opposite end of the site where the forms were jutting out, so I'm guessing they're going to finish getting the rest of the project to ground level. I didn't get a good look though.

This project is now known as Continuum. Here's the recent progress. Phase I seems to be wrapping up.

phase 1 is completed. Waiting on news for phase 2. I'm guessing they want to fill up the first tower.
