YIMBY: First Look: 42 Trinity Place, Another Supertall Coming to the Financial District

Quote:

Studio C Architects is behind the current images, which show the rough potential of the site’s future occupant. Plans have the building rising 80 stories and 1,015 feet, though another tipster notes the tower could go even higher. The air rights’ assemblage is larger than any other predominantly residential supertall in the works except for 217 West 57th Street, and the site could easily support a configuration that results in a significantly taller final height.

NY Post: Trinity Place complex gets a new look — and a new name

Quote:

Plans have been crystallized for the redevelopment of the former Syms complex at 28-42 Trinity Place, which will now be known as 77 Greenwich St.

The upcoming 500-foot-tall glass condominium tower will also have a new grammar school at its base, as well as 7,000 square feet of retail.

Despite other renderings and rumors that proclaimed the project as a super-tall structure of 1,000 feet, it will be just half that height and much less expensive to build, but still have river and harbor views.

Trinity lands $190M loan at 77 Greenwich

Quote:
Matthew Messinger’s Trinity Place Holdings sewed up nearly $190 million in construction financing for its 90-unit condominium tower in the Financial District.

The Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company provided the four-year, $189.5 million loan, which has a one-year extension option, according to regulatory filings. A portion of the proceeds will be used to repay a $40 million loan from Sterling National Bank and Israel Discount Bank of New York.
