I love the fact that this beauty is situated smack-dab in the heart of the city.

Hi my Ukrainian mates

I would like to ask you if Dynamo Kiev will play at this stadium after finishing building. As you know in Warsaw National Stadium will be only for national team, and any other club will not play there. Could you tell me what situation will be in Kiev?

Greetings from Poland

Dynamo will likely use this stadium for big European matches as usual.

Dynamo will use this stadium for european matches until they build new stadium/reconstruct the current one.
Arsenal Kyiv will also play all of their games (league and europe) on this stadium until their new stadium is built.

I believe the old configuration included bench seating. The new one is all individual seats. They also built luxury suites on one side, which made the upper level above the suites smaller. This is all speculation however on my part. Perhaps someone with some facts can add to the discussion.

Before this reconstruction, the stadium had narrow plastic seats which allowed more people to fit in, and now since the seats will be wider, that will decrease the capacity. Also on the new stand, not only did it make the upper tier smaller, but the lower one also if you look carefully.

With bench it had 100,062 seats (since 1967).
During 1999 reconstruction individual seats were installed and capacity fallen till previous 83,450.

What about any upgrades the stadium underwent before the 1980 Summer Olympics?

What I have found on official website

Quote:
For the third time the capital repairs and important reconstruction of the Central stadium began in 1977 year due to decision to involve the capital of Ukraine in XXII summer Olympic Games football tournament in 1980 year. First of all a football field for matches of such level had to be prepared, that’s why drainage system was refined and the ground was completely substituted and sown by grass. A cup for Olympic flame was installed on original bays on the eastern stand. Also four light supports of 82 meters high were installed. There were 132 lamps each on 3,5 kW. Just during of this reconstruction two more football fields, discus throwing, shot-putting and hammer throwing courts, a new unique ski hill with cable-stayed system were constructed
