The Baroque Complex was built in the 1700's and includes the catholic cathedral, the episcopal office and a series of homes for priests.

In the last years, the assembly is being refurbished, starting with the cathedral (finished). The episcopal palace is at work since february 2018. The project costs about 6 milion euros and the building will also host a museum, conference and exhibition rooms.

Also, around the building there will be a botanical garden, with a few spaces for different events. The park will cost about 800.000 euros and work will start in Q1/Q2 2019.

King Ferdinand Square rehabilitation

One of the most important squares in the city center will be entirely refurbished. The aim of the project, worth 4 milion euros (from EU funds) is transforming the space into a pedestrian area. The area will be paved with stone and will also serve for cultural events and concerts. There are, in fact, two zones: the main plaza, in front of the Thatre, and the second plaza, in the back of the Teatre.

Tram Line Extension

A new 4,8 km double tram line will be built in Oradea. This tram line will connect two neighborhoods, Ioșia and Nufărul and also the commercial area, the University and a new developing quarter, on Ceyrat street. It will include 8+8 tram stations, new intersections and all tehnical equipment needed.

The red lines are the existing tram system and the green line will be the new tram line. The project will cost about 12,3 milion EUR, financed by the EU.

Also, the Municipality of Oradea will buy, in 2019-2021, 20 new tramways, build by Astra Rail Arad, Romania:
