This looks like such a good building when the sun hits it.

Welcome to Limestone district!

Nice pictures! That Vikings Stadium really is gonna tower over downtown East... I sure hope we get at least one building that can tower over the Vikings Stadium to bring a little balance. Hope the riverfront project gets going soon! Heck I think they should have funded that before Nicollet Mall remodel given all the development over in downtown East.

Whatever happened to the plan to build a tower atop the stadium parking ramp?

unfortunately they pulled out as far as I know. So that plan is been delayed. I think they still might be trying to work on something but no news yet.

Surprised there was no interest from bigger national names in such a prime spot.

Technically isn't it actually next to the ramp and not on top of it? I think there was talk about it possibly going on top of it but not sure if that's still a possibility.

I think those are two different parcels: one next to the ramp and the other above the ramp itself.

That Guthrie Theater building is so.... so.... tacky and out of place. It doesn't seem to blend into the skyline well, or is that just me?

Pretty sure that's just you. I think the Guthrie Theater is a brilliant piece of architecture that adds a nice contrast to its historic Mill District surroundings. The Guthrie alone injects so much art and vibrancy into a neighborhood that already has lots of it. I think it's a jewel and a landmark we can be proud of.

We need more mold-breaking architecture like the Guthrie in the Twin Cities.

I biked right by the two new towers on Saturday and looked around at the construction site. I didn't realize the street directly to the South is actually a bridge! They had dug next to it and there's a bunch of empty space and a concrete bunker looking thing under it. It must be built over some of the caves or something.

I believe there was a tunnel underneath the street connecting the buildings. I read something about it a couple months ago and can't find it now.
