The new Sedburgh sports centre looks to be making great progress. Much of the building is now clad, and new pedestrian crossings have been installed on Cleckheaton Road. Sorry that I don't have any pictures of the progress.

The new Sedburgh leisure centre will be opening in the Autumn with the exact date of opening yet to be confirmed whilst the existing Richard Dunn centre will be closed once the new Sedburgh leisure centre opens: https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co....-centre-opens/

Will certainly mark the end of an era to see the Richard Dunn centre close down and it will open up a lot of land for redevelopment alongside the soon to be vacant Odsal stadium. Also isn't the new Sedburgh leisure centre lacking in facilities compared with the Richard Dunn centre?

Also demolition work is underway at the former Kingswood Arms by the junction where the A6177 Bradford Ring Road meets with Cutler Heights Lane: https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co....pub-continues/

The Kingswood Arms was certainly an eyesore building which must have been derelict for around 20 years although surely the demolition of this pub would be a good opportunity to improve the Ring Rd / Cutler Heights Ln junction. Wonder if any features from the demolished pub such as the big Tetley's sign outside have been salvaged?

WORK has started on a £2.4 million refurbishment of Farnell Land Rover Bradford that will see the retailer undergo a complete renovation and extension.

Once completed, the King’s Road dealership will boast a nine-car showroom, designed in line with the Jaguar Land Rover Arch concept, that is expected to create a number of new full-time jobs in the coming years as Land Rover introduce new models to its range.

The new-look showroom, which is scheduled to open on April 20, 2020, will be fully air-conditioned and will have more electric charging points for the widely anticipated new electric models from Jaguar and Land Rover. The retailer will also have an 11-bay technician workshop, MOT bay, display space for 50 approved used cars, extra customer parking spaces, plus a barista bar.

The dealership has moved into Jaguar Bradford, less than a mile away in Canal Road, while the work is carried out.

The new Defender, which is launched next spring, the all-new Range Rover Evoque and a range of plug-in hybrid vehicles will be showcased in the new premises.

Howard Jessop, head of business at Farnell Land Rover Bradford, said: ‘This development will meet the 2020 capacities and corporate vision set out by Jaguar Land Rover.

‘The significant investment demonstrates the company’s confidence in Bradford and its economy and will create a flagship facility for customers of the luxury brand.’

Not at all exciting but I had to post it having investigated it - but I'd noticed some work taking place at the old caravan storage site on the road into Ilkley just before you get to Ben Rhydding .. I presumed it'd be some typically uninspired housing scheme or other but it is in fact ..... a Garden Centre! Not such a bad design in fact
