Went to Mihan and surroundings on Saturday. Highlights:
1. First City construction in progress. Looks exactly as rendered and is beautiful.
2. Om Shiv Kailasa township has started construction on 12-13 towers, 16 floors each.
3. Patanjali is ready.
4. DRAL's huge new hanger under contruction.
5. AIIMS! Largest site of all. Multiple buildings of 10+ floors topped out.
6. IIM has started leveling the ground.
7. Airport taxiway is being extended further beyond DRAL.
8. National Cancer Institute structure looks magnificent!

मिहानमधील टाटा कन्सलटन्सी सर्व्हिसेस (टीसीएस) कंपनी युवकांना रोजगार देण्यात आघाडीवर ठरली आहे. या कंपनीने पुन्हा विस्तारीकरणाची योजना आखली असून त्याअंतर्गत ३५ कोटी रुपये अदा करून ५० एकर जमीन खरेदी केली आहे. कंपनीत ४५०० जणांना रोजगार मिळाला असून विस्तारीकरणात दुसरे कॅम्पस दोन वर्षांत सुरू झाल्यानंतर आणखी एक हजार युवकांना रोजगाराच्या संधी उपलब्ध होणार आहे.

महाराष्ट्र विमानतळ विकास कंपनीने लीज कराराचा मसूदा टीसीएसकडे पाठविला आहे. त्यानंतरच करार होणार आहे. पण कंपनीने ७० लाख रुपये एकर दरानुसार ५० एकर जमिनीसाठी ३५ कोटी रुपये अदा केल्यामुळे त्यांना जमिनीचे हस्तांतरण करण्यात आले आहे. कंपनी तीन महिन्यात विकास कामांना सुरुवात करणार आहे. कंपनीचा पहिल्या टप्प्यातील प्रकल्प ५५ एकर जमिनीवर उभा आहे. त्यामुळे कंपनीकडे १०५ एकर जमीन झाली आहे. सध्या ११ लाख चौरस फूट जागेवर बांधकाम केले आहे.
टीसीएसच्या प्रकल्पात जवळपास १० हजार युवकांना रोजगार मिळणार आहे. या जागतिक स्तराच्या कंपनीतून मोठ्या कंपन्यांना आयटी सेवा प्रदान करण्यात येत आहे. यामध्ये डिजिटल सॉफ्टवेअर विकास, इंजिनिअरिंग, आयओपी, अ*ॅनालिटिकल, इंडस्ट्री, बिझनेस सोल्युशन आदी सेवांचा समावेश आहे. टीसीएसने पूर्वी पहिल्या टप्प्यातील युनिटची सुरुवात कॉल सेंटर आणि बीपीओद्वारे केली होती.
टीसीएस कंपनीला एल अ*ॅण्ड टी इन्फोसिसची जागा देण्यात आल्याची माहिती सूत्रांनी दिली. एमआयएलने ही जागा पूर्वी एल अ*ॅण्ड टीला दिली होती. पण या कंपनीने अनेक वर्षांनंतरही कामाला सुरुवात न केल्यामुळे एमआयएलने जागा परत घेतली. आता ही जागा टीसीएसला देण्यात आल्यामुळे युवकांना रोजगाराची द्वारे खुली होणार आहे. मिहान-सेझमध्ये आतापर्यंत जवळपास ३५ हजार युवकांना रोजगार उपलब्ध झाल्याची माहिती आहे. लवकरच सुरु होणाऱ्या बाबा रामदेव यांच्या पतंजली कंपनीत युवकांना रोजगार उपलब्ध होणार आहे.
टीसीएसला ५० एकर जमिनीचे हस्तांतरण
कंपनीने महाराष्ट्र विमानतळ विकास कंपनीकडे (एमआयएल) ३५ कोटी रुपये अदा केल्यानंतरच जमिनीचा ताबा देण्यात आला आहे. लीज कराराचा मसूदा कंपनीकडे पाठविण्यात आला आहे. लवकरच मान्यता मिळविण्याची शक्यता आहे. कंपनी तीन महिन्यात काम सुरू करणार आहे. या माध्यमातून एक हजार युवकांना रोजगार मिळणार आहे.

Dassault Aviation likely to start making Rafale parts in India this year for global clients

French defence major Dassault Aviation is likely to start manufacturing parts of the Rafale fighter jets at its India facility this year, with the wares destined for global customers, ThePrint has learnt.

The Indian facility, a joint venture with Anil Ambani’s Reliance Defence, is located in Nagpur.

According to industry sources, the French firm has already carried out a test production of certain parts that could be manufactured here. A formal announcement to this effect, they said, could come in September, when the first of the 36 Rafale ordered by the Indian Air Force are handed over in France.


The Nagpur facility of Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL) is currently making cockpits for the French manufacturer’s Falcon business jets, besides other parts. It is being used as a “test bed” for the possible manufacturing of fighter jet parts.

The industry sources told ThePrint that the plan was to start with smaller parts like the undercarriage door, before going on to bigger ones.


A ‘u-turn’ ::

Reports of the Nagpur facility churning out fighter jet parts come months after Dassault Aviation CEO Eric Trappier said the company had no plans to manufacture Rafale parts in the country if India capped its order at 36 jets.

When the first Falcon 2000 cockpit front section manufactured at Nagpur was ready to be handed over to Dassault this February, the company said the “achievement illustrates Dassault Aviation’s determination to build up an Indian aerospace manufacturing eco-system, matching the highest standards in this field and positioning India as an international reference in the global aerospace market”.

Dassault and Reliance announced their joint venture and the creation of DRAL on 3 October 2016, barely two weeks after India signed a 7.878 billion-euro deal for 36 Rafale jets in a flyaway condition. The joint venture plans to recruit and train 650 employees by 2022, with the eventual aim being the rollout of a complete Falcon from Nagpur.

The DRAL facility was inaugurated in October 2017, in the presence of both Trappier and Ambani.

The joint venture has been in the eye of a storm over the opposition’s allegations that the Narendra Modi government had shown undue favour to get Dassault Aviation to pick Reliance Defence as an offsets partner. The government was given a clean chit on the deal by the Supreme Court in December last year, but the top court is currently hearing a review petition against the order.

One more MRO expected to start in Mihan by Dec

Nagpur: The Mihan-SEZ may soon have one more aircraft maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) depot operational.
Indamer Aviation which has been allotted land next to the Air India’s MRO, has completed 70% of construction work with four hangars ready.
It plans to start operations by December end this year.
Indamer Aviation in which two Indian businessmen Prayaj Patel and Sunil Gupta have a stake has tied up with US aircraft maintenance services provider AAR.The MRO, spread in 30 acres of land in the SEZ,
will be taking up framework maintenance of Airbus 320 aircraft. This means the outer body, interiors and work except major overhaul of the engines will be done here.
Rajesh Gupta, the CEO of Indamer said his company hopes to get the FAA and EASA approvals from the American and European aviation authorities in the coming months.
If secured in the expected time, Indamer Aviation’s set up in Mihan can be the first framework MRO to be operational in India.
“This would be a win-win situation for the company, airlines and also the government as it would save a substantial foreign exchange outgo,” he said.
Airlines like Indigo and Go Air have already expressed their willingness to offer business to Indamer Aviation after the operations begin.
This means the MRO hopes to have sizeable business in the initial stages itself he added.
Indamer Aviation is also the oldest MRO in the country. It began in 1939 with a single hangar near the Juhu Airport.
The company was then promoted by American entrepreneur Joseph Koszarek. In 2007, the company became part of European Aviation holding Company Private Limited (EAHC).
Finally Patel and Gupta invested in the business.
With the Nagpur venture, Indamer will be taking up works for the civil aviation aircraft for the first time.
This means, so far it was taking up the servicing of private jets, and at Nagpur it would be catering to even aircraft deployed by various airlines, explained Gupta.
Meanwhile in what may give another boost to the Mihan-SEZ, the Concor’s Inland Container Depot (ICD), is expected to start within a month’s time.
All that needs to be done is that the ICD needs to be connected with the station by the railways.
Concor is a subsidiary of Indian Railways that is engaged in transport of cargo containers to the seaports.
Concor’s chief general manager for Central India Arunkumar Satpathy said the agency is in a position to start the facility in a month’s time if the rail connectivity is established.
Under the present situation, trains running from the direction of Nagpur to Mumbai can reach the ICD but not those form the opposite direction.
“There has been a time overrun as the work was expected to have been completed by 2016. However, now the railways have assured to finish it within a month’s time after which the ICD here can become operational,”
said Sathpathy, adding, “Once ready, majority of the work from the present ICD at Narendra Nagar will be shifted to Mihan.

Nod to give land to JSR Dynamics in MIHAN SEZ for Defence Hub

The Board of Directors of Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), in its meeting held in Mumbai on Wednesday, approved a proposal for allotment of land to city-based startup JSR Dynamics in Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Multimodal International Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) for setting up a Defence Hub. Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister, chaired the meeting of the MADC Board of Directors. JSR Dynamics had sought land in MIHAN-SEZ. Accordingly, the proposal was put up for consideration before MADC Board. After discussion, the Chief Minister gave nod to allotment of 27 acres of land to the said firm. He told officials that some more companies had expressed keen interest in starting their units in MIHAN. In the meeting, progress of development of airports at Chandrapur, Amravati, Solapur, Purandar etc also was reviewed.

Also, the Chief Minister took stock of implementation of regional connectivity scheme. He asked the officials concerned to expedite the works of airports that were under development. Rajiv Jalota, Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department; Satish Gavai, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries); Dr Nitin Kareer, Principal Secretary (Urban Development); Valsa Nair Singh, Principal Secretary (General Administration); Lokesh Chandra, Managing Director of CIDCO; Suresh Kakani, Vice-President and Managing Director of MADC, attended the meeting prominently. JSR Dynamics Pvt Ltd is a Nagpur-based start-up company floated by Air Marshal (retd) S B Deo, former Vice-Chief of Air Staff.

Last month, it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Economic Explosives Ltd, a subsidiary of Nagpur-based Solar Group, for warheads and allied proceses for glide weapons and lightweight cruise missile. Earlier, in February, JSR Dynamics had signed a MoU with Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL). The MoU aimed at ‘leveraging the individual design and manufacturing capabilities’ of BEL and JSR Dynamics Pvt Ltd. Air Marshal S B Deo, a Nagpurian, had showcased four missiles of different types at Aero India show held in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, in February.

The missiles he designed and developed include ‘Vel’, a 297-km strike range cruise missile; and ‘Khagantak’, a stand-off missile. His initiative had two glide bombs of different calibre and a lightweight cruise missile carrying a small warhead. JSR Dynamics Pvt Ltd designs and manufactures ground-based and air-based weapons. Its products include glide weapons, lightweight cruise missiles, and allied sub-assemblies and components. JSR Dynamics getting land in MIHAN-SEZ is a major step towards transforming Nagpur into a Defence Hub in the long run. Already, Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited has started manufacturing facility in MIHAN. In February this year, the first cockpit of Falcon-2000 produced by DRAL at MIHAN was handed over to Dassault Aviation, France. Further, teams of various other companies had visited MIHAN area to know the opportunities for investment particularly in Defence sector.

Given so much development within Mihan, shouldn't Mahametro be looking at either extending the Orange Line into Mihan (or) Building a New line from inside Mihan, or building an LRT? I think it's better than works start immediately rather than wait for the area to become another Hinjewadi.

Also, I see two lakes, one near Patanjali and one near First City. Maybe these can be redeveloped as a proper park?

The metro is I think planned to connect mihan in the future. As far as the lakes are concerned, they are owned by private companies

HCL to keep land it had given up in Mihan, announces
expansion


Nagpur: HCL Technologies, that had given up 90 acres out of its total land parcel of 140 acres in the Mihan-SEZ, announced
expansion plans for Nagpur on Sunday as the company also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to maintain its
holding in the area at the original level.
HCL will be now doubling the number of employees to 2,000 for which the recruitment process will begin from August 24. The
company also announced a plan to finally take the number of employees at Nagpur to 8,000 in all, and come up with a hub for
the western region’s operations here.
HCL was originally allotted 140 acres of land in the SEZ in 2007. Further development by IT companies in Mihan was hit due to
the global slowdown of 2008. In 2016, HCL felt that it may not need as much area for the Nagpur project, and it gave back 90
acres to the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) — the developer of Mihan-SEZ. The company had got the
land for around Rs57 crore an acre.
MADC, however, did not return the money and insisted that it should be continuing the project. Nearly three years down the
line, HCL signed the MoU with MADC to keep the land and expand its existing unit here.
“HCL will now be signing a fresh lease deed for the 90 aces of land which it is taking back. The immediate plan is to increase
the number of employees by 1,000. This would have a considerable number of experienced hands. By March, the company will
be ready with infrastructure to employ another 2,000 techies. This will happen on the 50-acre plot that it retained. Ultimately,
there are plans for taking the employment number to 8000 in all in the coming five years,” said Sanjay Gupta, the corporate
vice-president of HCL and also in-charge of Nagpur operations.
“Apart from the other high-end functions, the operations here include product development and infrastructure maintenance,”said Gupta. HCL also plans to come up with a residential complex for its employees on the 19 acres of land taken up outside
the SEZ area but within the Mihan complex. Earlier, it had taken 30 acres out of which it has got back 19 acres after it had
scaled down plans for Nagpur giving back the 90 acres in SEZ.
Earlier, Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari said, “When HCL’s boss Shiv Nadar met me at my residence in Delhi, he sought
my help in getting back the money for the portion of the land the company had given back in Mihan. I said I will do it, but you
would also lose a friend in Nagpur. I am from Nagpur and I have commitments towards development of the city.”
Gadkari said he had an emotional connect with Mihan. As a minister in the state government, he had envisaged the project in
1998.

सेफरॉन अनेक विमानांच्या इंजिनची निर्मिती करते. या कंपनीने उपराजधानीमध्ये काम सुरू केले तर २०० व्यक्तींना प्रत्यक्ष आणि ८०० व्यक्तींना अप्रत्यक्षपणे रोजगार मिळणार आहे. सेफरॉन व्यतिरिक्त ट्रेनिंगसाठी फ्लाईट सिम्युलेटर उपलब्ध करणाऱ्या नागपूर बेस्ट कंपनी फ्लायपॅसिफिक फ्लाईट सिम्युलेशन्स प्रा.लि. आणि विमानांचे कंपोनेंट्स निर्माण करणारी फ्रान्सची कंपनी लेक्रॉइक्स यांचाही यात सहभाग आहे. या दोन्ही कंपन्यांनीही जमीन घेण्याची तयारी दशर््विली आहे.
मिहानच्या एव्हिएशन हबमध्ये आतापर्यंत आठ कंपन्यांनी ३०२.८१ एकर जमीन घेतली आहे. यात एअर इंडिया इंजिनियरिंग सर्व्हिसेस लिमिटेड (एमआरओ साठी) ६९ एकर, एएआर इंडामेर टेक्निक २९.३१ एकर, आणि रिलायन्स एरोस्पेस लिमिटेड (डसॉल्ट रिलायन्स एरोस्पेस लिमि. आणि थेलेस रिलायन्स डिफेन्स सिस्टीम लिमि.) यांनी १२४ एकर जमीन खरेदी केली आहे.
ताल मॅन्युफॅक्चरिंग सोल्युशन्स लिमिटेड सुद्धा ३० एकर जमीन घेऊन येथे कार्यरत आहे. इंडामेरची उभारणी अद्यापही सुरू आहे. या वर्षाअखेर हा प्रकल्प कार्यान्वित होऊ शकतो.

MIHAN sees jump in exports to Rs 1,908 crore in 2018-19

MIHAN a 100 per cent export oriented project is witnessing a surge in exports. The total exports from MIHAN has jumped to Rs 1,908 crore during the year 2018-19 as compared to Rs 1,112 crore worth of exports in 2017-18, a rise of 796 crore. This was revealed by S V Chahande, Chief Engineer and Advisor Technical of Maharashtra Airport Development Company Limited (MADC) while speaking to The Hitavada.

The companies which are operational in MIHAN have made their mark regarding exports in the international market. The companies have adopted high standards and offer world-class products and services to some of the largest multinationals in the world. “The phenomenal rise in exports in 2018-19 is a major achievement. MADC is providing all the best possible support and infrastructure which helps these companies to achieve their objectives,” Chahande said. Currently there are 42 export oriented units which are operational in MIHAN. MIHAN is providing direct employment to 18,000 employees and indirect employment to a large number of people.

The major companies contributing to the exports are from the aviation, IT and pharma sectors, he said. “MIHAN is a market driven project. Investments to MIHAN depend on economic conditions in the international market. Apart from this, Indian Governments relationship with foreign countries also plays an important role in attracting investments,” he further said. In MIHAN the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) had attracted investments of Rs 5,000 crore and area outside of SEZ has an investment of around Rs 800 crore, he said. MIHAN offers a industry friendly environment due to which companies in the project area are flourishing. MIHAN is strategically connected to all major cities by air, road and rail. The existing Nagpur International Airport namely Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport at Nagpur is being developed at a fast pace.

Nagpur International Airport will have two important segments like passenger and cargo and is expected to handle about 1.4 crore passengers and 8.7 lakh ton of cargo, he added. Most of the companies in MIHAN-SEZ are growing at phenomenal speed and expanding their operations by acquiring more land. “MIHAN is an ideal location offering ample land, infrastructure and tax incentives,” Chahande said. Some of the well-known units in MIHAN are Air India MRO, Dassault Reliance Aerostructure Ltd (DRAL), TAL Manufacturing Solutions Ltd, AAR Indamer Technics MRO and Thales Defence, Turgis Et Gaillard a France based aerospace company, CONCOR, Future Supply Chain, TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, HCL, Global Logic, Ebix, Infocepts, Info Datalogy, Lupin Pharma, Zim Laboratories and Arco Lifescience. In food processing sector there are companies like Kanav Agronomy, Diet Food International, Pravesh Exports and Patanjali Food and Herbal Park among others he added.
